How (and why) to Ramble on your goat sideways

Working from home, I have figured out that my wife thinks that the amount of work I have completed on any given day is directly linked to my appearance. If I shower, shave, get dressed and do my hair, then spend an hour working and four hours goofing off, my wife thinks that obviously I have spent a hard day on the job. If I get up early and drink a gallon of coffee and work for eight hours straight in my pajama pants and no shirt, my wife wants to know why the hell I didn't weed and feed the lawn because obviously I haven't been doing anything important. I asked her about this last night and it turns out that because I both work and play on the computer, the only way she can tell the difference is by my appearance.

I feel like the only human on earth whose daily routine has not been interrupted, save for the fact that my morning commute is now much easier.
Also, you mentioned the wife without being prompted to do so, so it's kind of an unwritten rule that photos are expected, Just saying...

Robert C. Baker (December 29, 1921 – March 13, 2006) was an inventor and Cornell University professor. He invented the chicken nugget as well as many other poultry-related inventions. Due to his contributions to the poultry sciences, he is a member of the American Poultry Hall of Fame.
A Lansing, New York, native, Baker earned a bachelor's degree from Cornell University in 1943 and then went on to major in pomology at the university's College of Agriculture. For his graduate work, Baker took his master's degree at Penn State University and his doctorate at Purdue University. Baker was a member of the Alpha Zeta fraternity.
Robert Baker traveled the world innovating how people eat and view chicken. He spent his entire academic life at Cornell University (1957–1989) and published some 290 research papers. In 1970 he founded the university's Institute of Food Science and Marketing. Baker was elected a fellow of the Institute of Food Technologists in 1997.
Accredited to him are more than 40 poultry, turkey and cold cut innovations, making him the "George Washington Carver of poultry". In addition to creating the chicken nugget, he is also responsible for a revolutionary way to bind breading to chicken, co-invented the machine responsible for deboning chicken and created the chicken and turkey hot dogs and turkey ham.
McDonald's is often falsely credited with the invention of the chicken nugget. In fact, Baker published his chicken nugget recipe in the 1950s as unpatented academic work, while McDonald's patented its recipe for Chicken McNuggets in 1979 and started selling the product in 1980.
Baker's famous recipe for Cornell Chicken was actually innovated while Baker was at Penn State but never gained appreciation until he joined the faculty of Cornell.

Pro tip:
If you are the chief counsel for a company which is under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission, during the process of the largest merger of two media companies ever, do not respond to a letter from the Deputy Director of the SEC, in which he is requesting clarification on numerous activities which appear highly irregular bordering on fraudulent, by saying (and, I swear, I am quoting this verbatim) "So sue me."
Because they will.
Massively.
$48 million. That's the largest fine ever in FCC history, by quite a large margin.
Yeah... Sinclair broadcasting just learned a lesson.

First who knew, an American Poultry Hall of Fame. That's so bizarre.
I don't even remember how many things Larry Ellison/Oracle is being sued for at the moment.

Let me run something past you. My car has begun having trouble holding boost to redline. It goes up to the usual 20-ish lbs then immediately falls back to about 16. Manipulating the EBC has no effect. I tested the WG actuator by putting a vacuum on the inlet and the gauge didn't show a leak. I loosened and inspected all the couplers and t clamps expecting a tear and saw nothing. I put vacuum (not pressure) to the Bosch BOV and it held. Next I will remove the BOV and block the hole and try boosting. I don't think it's a post-TB thing or it would idle higher. Ideas?

Congrats! I'm sure you'll enjoy the experience. I'm also 36, also blowing obscene amounts of money on buzzing around in the winged lawnmower that is the C172. If the weather holds out, I hope to finally do my first solo cross country (as in, airport-to-airport, not transnational) flight next week. Also: I just arrived in Casablanca, so need to get back from there first.
Assuming this Corona stuff doesn't blow everything out of the sky, there's rarely been a better time to get into aviation, if that's what you want to do. I myself am hoping for a career change if all works out.
Happy flying!

This is making me really miss N6066R.
She was an old airplane, a very basic 60s era 172 Skyhawk who'd been rode hard, and suffered an ignoble demise during hurricane Charley. There was no fanfare, she was just pushed aside as scrap.
But she was my first. You never forget that. "Six six romeo" is a call sign I'll always remember.

It wasn't the BOV. When it was removed and the hole plugged the problem persisted. I haven't looked at the air filter. Maybe I should.
During this test drive it occasionally only went straight to 16psi on EBC. Sometimes it would go to 20 and then drop back to 16. No idea why.
With the EBC off it goes to 8psi and stays like always.
Something odd, when the boost is first rising (around 7 to 14 psi) the boost doesn't rise linearly. The needle on the gauge wavers. It's peculiar.

A pressure tester is easy to make or cheap to buy. Unless you have valve overlap, just put the air into the compressor inlet. You don’t have to cap anything else.
When I pressure tested mine, the leak I left unfixed (because it started above my highest boost level) was in or near the intake manifold. I think it is an injector being pushed out of the head.
Bottom line: just because idle is not affected does not mean the leak is not post throttle body.

Roger, It's definitely down on power. I don't think it's got a vacuum leak post throttle body because it doesn't idle high. But I'm going to check the EBC reference hose and make sure it isn't pinched or something.

That's a bit more digging to do if something easy doesn't show itself.
I think the test you describe will leak through the turbo compressor shaft seal. And maybe other places.

I was burning a brush pile today. After it had burned down to a bed of coals, I happened to startle a snake. It zipped out onto the bed of coals, spazzed out, & died. Damndest thing.
