I am sincerely thankful for the help today.
Everything is wired up and running perfectly. |
Well, I hit my goal of 29# off by the end of the contest. I am going to continue, as I could stand to lose another 15# or so. I'm betting the other contestants will put the weight right back on, as they all did last time.
So much for "healthy workplace" incentives. |
We did this at work from 2009 to 2015. It had some odd rules:
Regardless of the favoritism and inconsistencies, it was a solid motivator to loose weight. We figured there was a solid 50%-60% dropout rate so if you met the 10% goal, you did make money. It all went pear shaped when they changed the rules in 2015 to add "steps" and made you buy a (partially subsidized) Fitbit. Then the one guy who was raping everyone's face on "steps" (literally 10x the "steps" of the next highest person) had a heart attack in the hallway outside my office. On the bright side, we now have AEDs throughout our offices. |

Was posted from my phone, autocorrect is a bitch. You should be glad there are not more errors. I'm going to leave it like that, just to annoy you.

Here's an email I sent to a client two days ago.
We got paid yesterday. (I's a fire prevention company, we translate their training sessions) --------- Hi XXXXX, I'll briefly run down what has happened so far in my quest to get paid from your company. Please feel free to forward this mail to whomever you may feel could help / benefit / be entertained by this insanity. * I was engaged by your company in November 2016, for translation services to be provided in December 12th, 2016. * I was told I would be paid in advance (before rendering said translation services) so I gave your company a deep discount. * The discount was two-fold: Not only price was reduced, but only one interpreter (myself) was scheduled for the event, instead of the customary 2 "alternating" interpreters throughout the day. * December 12 came and went without a hitch. * WE (we, as in the sound/tech company and I) were told there would be a delay in payment due to some internal something. Things happen. * We kept waiting. A new date was set. We would be paid on January 4th. Now, that was progress. * January 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and following days after that came and went. Nothing but tumbleweeds. * I sent you an email on January 25. You know, one can only hope. But, guess what.. No response. * Meanwhile your offices in Turkey (Ankara and Istanbul) kept apologizing - on your behalf, no less. Imagine. * Then came February. February. Another email was sent to you. A response came this time, but failed to make me feel special. Out of office auto reply. Bummer. * Called UK this time. I was told Ireland deals with payments. * Called Ireland. They gave me another Ireland number. Erin go bragh! * Ireland was pretty sure I was paid already. I said no. They said "really"? * Asked for proof of payment and promptly received a screenshot of some internal accounting ledger. That was less than satisfying. * Asked for some official looking bank type document as proof of payment. They said they have to talk to cashiers first. Not exactly what I was hoping for. * Finally I had a few words with E. You know, your account manager here in Turkey. He was (and is) less than impressed. * I'm guessing E made some phone calls. * Aaand, guess what... I got a response today. A major downer, actually. They said my account number was bad. * My sweet little account number has been with me like a loyal dog for over 10 years now. Never betrayed me. Not once. * Oh, and, get this... Remember the sound / tech people? They never got paid, too. Must be really bad number streak. * Are you still reading this? * One more thing: They also said the payment was rejected (because of my bad account number) on January 12. How come no one told me that for 48 days now? * Are you guys really thinking I would just forget about this whole thing and go on my merry way? * This money will not make me rich, nor will I become a homeless person for not getting it. It's a matter of principle at this point. * So, just pay me already. You have officially run out of excuses. * Just a suggestion: You guys may think about buying donuts for the accounting people every now and then. I really think there's some serious low blood sugar issue there. Extinguishingly yours, (get it? fire joke) --------- |
You sound really put out by it.
|
Hey, it worked.
|
Sounds like you gave them a good burn. :D

I imagine this a a bit watered down from the Turkish version.

There is no Turkish version. I copy / pasted the actual email I sent, with deleted names. |
Stuff that *I* designed while at PR&E is now owned by Wheatstone.
I'm having difficulty accepting this... |
Speaking of things connecting by a smushy bond : :vash: Just found out my 6 speed is leaking slowly... This car is still full of surprises.
Now I get to track it down and check every day or so to find out where it's coming from. I read in another thread bob suggests using permatex "right stuff". Anyone have success stories with it's use? |

Anyone have success stories with it's use? Does this describe the area from which your transmission is leaking? This isn't some sort of glue that you can slop onto the outside of the case. |

Any suggestions on something I can smear into the crack and original gasket seal? Don't exactly have funds to have a shop take apart and reseal it, though it would be best. Since I haven't found the exact location just yet. I'm also wondering if it's the sensor on the passenger side with two wires coming out (Neutral switch?) It had 'some' oil on it but not as bad as some of the bottom. As far as I could tell, it's not leaking from up high on the trans. Sides looked pretty dry. |
I Feel So Stupid
I have been looking for a turbo that would replace a 2560 directly(bolt onto the FM Manifold) that does not have an internal wastegate. Can anyone direct me? Every one I find seems to have a different mounting flange.

Gotcha, I must of read his original post incorrectly.

FM sells an "FM2R" kit. This is built around the exhaust housings that ATP make which replaced the internal waste gate with a v-band flange for an EWG. They make versions which will bolt onto basically anything GT/GTX 28xx or 30xx. The FM2R kit then adds a turbosmart EWG and a new 3" lower downpipe with an EWG collector pipe that merges it back in before the cat. It then uses the standard FM 3" exhaust after that.
I have one on my car with an GTX2863R turbo. (lots more pics of it in my build thread, see my sig). http://www.codrus.com/miata/fm2r/turbo-plumbing-5.jpg It's not exactly cheap (call FM for pricing) and unfortunately the ATP housing is only available in a .72 A/R, which hurts spool a little bit. That said, it flows a ton of air, you can kiss boost creep goodbye, and it's very easy to control. I'm making 340 at the wheels on my 2863R, limited by ping which is unrelated to the FM2R plumbing. If I tuned it for E85 it'd probably do 380-400. --Ian |
