I don't have a problem acknowledging I wear some things for fashion. I could wear Sansabelts every day, but I wear slim fit chinos and a nice leather belt because it looks good (I save the Sansabelts for the weekends).
|
My legs are too big proportionally to my waist to wear slim fit chinos. Clothes fit me wierd unfortunately.
Watch fits great though :bigtu: |
Android Crew: Assemble
Need a new phone and want to order today. I run my business out of this thing so I can't take any chances of my current phone dying on me. Current: Galaxy S4 - stock software with zerolemon battery. Does everything I need but it's starting to shit out with some system failure that I can't seem to fix. Tried all the tricks minus a new ROM. I'd play around with it some more but it's not worth it in case I brick it or it decided to just stop working. Right now I have it working somewhat using Nova Launcher, but basic apps are causing the phone to flicker and restart the phone. Right now my budget is $200. I have Cricket so I can use any unlocked phone and I don't mind buying refurbished. I do not play games. I only use the phone for recording, camera and shitposting online. Candidates so far: https://www.amazon.com/LG-Deep-Blue-Sprint-Wireless/dp/B01EGQ0LXY/ref=sr_1_7?s=wireless&srs=12653393011&rps=1&ie=UTF 8&qid=1485453732&sr=1-7&refinements=p_36%3A15000-20000%2Cp_n_feature_keywords_four_browse-bin%3A6787346011%2Cp_85%3A2470955011 https://www.amazon.com/LG-Google-Unlocked-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B017ROJ2NC/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1485454776&sr=1-1&keywords=nexus+5 I'm sure the Galaxy S5 is a candidate, too. Just not sure what model. I'm open to any other suggestions, as well. I'm aware Alcatel, Honor and other China phones are great, but I'm very unfamiliar with them. Thank you. FYI I'm really leaning towards the G4 since I can put a huge ass battery in it. Nexus kinda loses in that department. |
Gs5 would be my vote for you. It'll be very familiar feeling, water resistant, cheap, still have a replaceable battery etc. Downside being it won't be long before it is just as outdated as your 4.
I went from a 4 to a gs7 back in october/nov and it was a great switch for me. Battery life is good, i get my entire work day even with heavy use. Charges fast as hell. No removable battery which i am sure is a negative for you. Also the price.. |
I just bought an S5 (eBay) for less than $200. Although that's not much of an upgrade coming from and S4.
|
How about a phone+airtime plan?
Or, are those not convenient/preferred in the states? I mean, you can get pretty much any phone you want then, right? That's what we do, and the monthly bills are just a tax write off. |

If you're non poverty, buy a pixel, and then get hooked up with the carrier of your choice.

I've got an old silver/grey Galaxy S5 languishing in the back of my desk, Model SM-G900A. It powers on so I'm reasonably sure it works. If you want it, shoot me a PM and you can have it for the price of shipping.

https://store.google.com/product/pixel_phone That's overkill for me and I'd rather not switch carriers. I don't even know what I would do with that thing. |

New or used? Private seller or a store? Hit me with a link.
Ebay, seller is Upward Mobile. Guy has done alright by me so I've bought 3 from him. Looks like E02K has you set, though. |
My S4 ran okay too, then I got an S7 and realized what I had been dealing with. Things just stop working when they're meant to run on the newer faster hardware and they're stuck on the stuff.
|
Every now and then I try to cheap out on things. Bought a replacement laptop battery for less than half the price of an original unit. Arrived today with the battery pack already bulging. No thank you.

My local Costco had new Moto G 32G for $219 unlocked, no carrier signup required. Not sure how local Costco is to you.

If I don't end up sneaking my way into a Nexus 5x before they all disappear, something from OnePlus is on my list: https://oneplus.net/ |

Used, but excellent condition is $200. Not a mark on them, look absolutely perfect. Or, you can save some dough ($30?) and buy one that shows signs of use.

The phones I linked yesterday are already gone... These caught my eye today. I keep checking google for manufacturing dates and a lot of phones are late 2015 but seem to be relevant still https://www.amazon.com/LG-Smartphone-T-Mobile-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B01LZA7WBQ/ref=pd_day0_107_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01LZA7WB Q&pd_rd_r=BZ5H74WWY7E6H8J29H36&pd_rd_w=cyyhp&pd_rd _wg=Ie3zA&psc=1&refRID=BZ5H74WWY7E6H8J29H36 https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Unlocked-Smartphone-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B01595SI9U/ref=sr_1_13?s=wireless&srs=12653393011&ie=UTF8&qid =1485543983&sr=1-13&refinements=p_n_feature_keywords_four_browse-bin%3A6787346011 https://www.amazon.com/HTC-One-M9-Octa-Core-Smartphone/dp/B00W1KHTMY/ref=sr_1_20?s=wireless&srs=12653393011&ie=UTF8&qid =1485543983&sr=1-20&refinements=p_n_feature_keywords_four_browse-bin%3A6787346011&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/SM-G920V-Sapphire-Smartphone-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B014V5XDQW/ref=sr_1_12?s=wireless&srs=12653393011&ie=UTF8&qid =1485543983&sr=1-12&refinements=p_n_feature_keywords_four_browse-bin%3A6787346011 https://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Unlocked-Cellphone-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B019EVM87I/ref=sr_1_7?s=wireless&srs=12653393011&ie=UTF8&qid= 1485543983&sr=1-7&refinements=p_n_feature_keywords_four_browse-bin%3A6787346011 https://www.amazon.com/Unlocked-Smartphone-Black-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B01ERZT608/ref=sr_1_33?s=wireless&srs=12653393011&ie=UTF8&qid =1485545822&sr=1-33&refinements=p_n_feature_keywords_four_browse-bin%3A6787346011 G4 still an option, in my opinion. https://www.amazon.com/LG-Deep-Blue-Sprint-Wireless/dp/B01EGQ0LXY/ref=sr_1_59?s=wireless&srs=12653393011&ie=UTF8&qid =1485545874&sr=1-59&refinements=p_n_feature_keywords_four_browse-bin%3A6787346011 Edit: Scratch Note 4. It's too old. X Pure and Nexus 6 are in line with G4 and more expensive so scratch them too. Edit 2: Searching for Google Nexus 6p |
6p is a good budget option but no removable battery.
B&H photo is legit but be sure you're getting a phone that works on your network. |
A little late to the party. The nexus 5x may be a bit old, but I like it.
|
Very happy with my 6P, but I think you're unlikely to find one for $300.

Powershell, why the hell wasn't I using this already before!?
Just made it EZPZ to move hundreds of GB to an off storage site. |
