Amazon Prime finally screwed me. On the 25th I ordered 6 items I would really liked to have had before the weekend. All 6 items were Prime and they split it into 3 shipments. None of them are expected to arrive until Monday the 31st

On the contrary. Amazon delivered a package themselves same day. The driver even called me to confirm my address.
Maybe my good luck is running out. |
I do find it moderately cute when employees think that their employer pays for part of their health insurance, or half of their SS tax, or any other individual employee benefits for that matter.
I also find it moderately cute when renters vote for increased property taxes... |
Reading all of this actually makes me glad I was so badly injured in the navy. I mean, I will take some severe chronic pain and lasting health problems in exchange for not having to deal with those headaches.
The VA sucks, but I am not confident the private sector is going to be significantly better in the future. |
Just wait, it's my opinion that ACA was setup on purpose to fail sending us down the path to a single-payer system.
|
Yup. Looks like mine went up $10. Deductible went up $500. Now my HRA won't even cover my deductible.
Ugh. |

The VA sucks, but I am not confident the private sector is going to be significantly better in the future. A prime example of me dealing with the VA was having an ingrown toe nail when I was a teenager. It took me 4+ months to get an appointment, then another 3 after that to get scheduled to have it removed. A few years later it came back, called a podiatrist and had to removed within a week. |
Ear buds that sound decent under $30-40? I destroy them too quick to justify an expensive set, but Im also an audiophile, and the cheapo tinny sounding drivers kill me. I like the OEM samsungs, but its too hard to find an authentic set, china keeps ripping them off, and you cant tell until you order them and have them in your hands. Samsung wants like $70. Anybody?

Used earbuds? lol wtf?
They have the white, NEW, for $43. I can do that. Any other opinions? |

wait wait wait, how about blue tooth?
Get the HBS800 https://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-HBS-800-Bluetooth-Headset/dp/B013RLIY6U/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1477686873&sr=8-3&keywords=HBS-800 Definitely the HBS-800 is better than anything else I've heard under 200 bucks. |
Bluetooth is probably going to be my jam, I always have the conductor break at the jack. Thanks triple

NP man. I use my 800s at the gym, Year and a half still working. At 20 bucks i'll get another pair when they break. I've tried probably 100 pairs of earbuds since i work in a store that gets used electronics. the 800s stand out. Their noise reduction isnt anything fancy but good enough imo.

Opinion of a guy who works in broadcasting: audiophiles are to audio as pedophiles are to, well... |

Not sure how much of a bitch you are about the "ooh, I'm an audiophile, I can't use cheap headphones" thing, but for $12, I've been using these Sonys for years: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...r_headset.html
Opinion of a guy who works in broadcasting: audiophiles are to audio as pedophiles are to, well... I said I was an audiophile, not a douchebag. I was hoping you'd comment Joe. My first job was in pro-audio repair/hi-fi sales and engineering, I worked there for about 4 years. I made linear power supplies for recording studios, and fixed crazy peoples music shit. We used to joke and call ourselves "mid-fi", because we didnt listen to our music on chip amps, run 6 db above the point at which everything in the system clipped, but at the same time, we weren't bugger eating weirdos who argued on the polarity of a cable, let alone used pure silver conductors named after greek mythology. I have an EQ in my mid-fi system, which is fed digital content 90% of time, and some of my interconnects arnt even gold plated. :noes: For $30 and $12, im going to order both of your recommendations. Pic for attention, my very first power amp build, and still my main steed. Iirc correctly, those output trannys are from 1953ish and are cloth leaded. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...acd6272757.jpg |

Any benefit paid to the employee by the employer is deductible as a business expense like any other. It reduces the top line income and so taxes are reduced accordingly but the actual "expense" is there. The 1/2 of the taxes withheld from the employee are a liability to the employer. The 1/2 to be paid by the employer is an expense. That "expense" still needs to be sent to the government when it's due. |
