This is just kind of a placeholder for in case I start rambling incoherently later and need to ret-con, as I've just downed some oxycodone with a whiskey chaser.

I'm trying to decide how long to wait before i cancel FI.
I activated it last night, then put my verizon sim in. I feel like i should wait a few weeks so its not that obvious. |
I feel you. The only reason I would be doing this is to get on a new, inexpensive phone with naked Android. Pixel is too rich for my blood at the moment, and after watching the keynote I'm not convinced it'll be as "naked" as what I'm used to with the Nexus series.

I love it. A lot.
Like a lot. Do it. Finger print scanner is so nice. |
Just pay for a month and no data:
For a limited time, Project Fi is offering a discount of $150 off our normal price for the Nexus 5X, with activation required. If you purchase a Nexus 5X from fi.google.com, the discounted price will automatically apply during checkout. You must then activate Fi service on the same account within 30 days of device shipment, or an additional $150 will be charged to your Google Payments account to match the full price of the device. There is no minimum activation time needed to be eligible for the discount. |
Yeah. I'm going to cancel today.
Just canceled. That was way too easy. |
The 5x is junk. My 3 year old phone had better specs. Get a oneplus 1 or oneplus 2

Doesn't work on verizon. No care

I only switched because I dropped my Samsung and any place local wanted $300 to replaced the screen. |

As far as the speed, the specs say otherwise. |
Specs never tell the whole story.

I don't care about games and stupid apps. I use my email, the internet, and occasionally look at Instagram. I want a phone to do those things and call and text. |
My buddys galaxy s6 gives him 20 mbit connection all day on mobile which is what att says he should get soo not sure what the problem is.
|
Yeah and my buddy gets one million mbit on his nexus 9000.
|
Well its not over 9000 so thats irrelevant.
|

The Galaxy S5 I had before wasn't exactly a great performer either. So I don't care if God himself came down from the heaven's and told me to use a Galaxy because it has better specs, I'd tell him to bugger off, because in the real world, in my part of the country, for my use, the Nexus 5x hands down performs drastically better. |

Was initially trepidatious about not having an SD card slot or a removable battery. These fears proved unfounded. The wireless charging is cool, though it can be a little flaky if you have a thick case on the phone. There have been a couple of instances over the past year in which I went to bed with a solid blue light, and woke up to a flashing blue light rather than a solid green light. Fortunately, if you plug it in with the included 2A charger, the battery fills up faster than FaeFlora's anus at a furry convention. Can't complain about the S6 one bit, though. It's fast, it's reliable, and in Verizon trim, at least, it comes relatively free of crapware. GPS acquisition is extremely fast, and they really improved the power consumption while running GPS as compared to the S4. Good camera, good screen, and it even does a relatively good job of placing and receiving phone calls, which is something that a lot of phones are starting to fail at. |
