They had a tap takeover at Beer Revolution in Oakland with all the Goose Island Bourbon County (and associated rare variant) brews from 2013, 2014, and 2015. Given the average ABV, there was simply no way to come away unscathed. |

You aren't still celebrating? :)
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...1&d=1464277563 4 more wins boys, that's all we need! I might actually watch the Lightning/Penguins game tonight just to see what's up. Hopefully whomever wins that series gets the shit beat out of them. :giggle: I'm glad that series went to 7, it gives San Jose a couple more days to rest up. |
Watching the Preds almost take down SJ makes me a little skeptical.
I gotta say I'm rooting for TB. |
Tampa/San Jose would be a good match up. It's been interesting watching the Sharks frustrate the living shit out of Predators and Blues defense in the last couple rounds. ;)
I haven't seen them play like this in years. But being a Sharks fan since 93 is kinda like being in an abusive relationship and I never know when its safe it is to start celebrating. |
Was gogoling the other day and stumbled upon this interesting read

I think that's the right tact. My situation here isn't terrible and I'm not looking to burn any bridges. I'm just going to make a point of saying that I'm sorry for the short notice but it's a personal appointment that can't be rescheduled. If he needs more information than that, oh well.
New twist is that a second company that I had submitted a resume to a couple weeks ago called me yesterday afternoon. I had an impromptu 15 minute phone interview with two department managers, and then an hour later I had a call from the director of technology and had another 25 minute phone interview with him. I don't know if they can make me as attractive an offer as the first company I'm interviewing with, but it's good to have another option. |
Congrats on your offers & successful email :likecat:

No problems with the request, I worded my email politely but firmly and my boss didn't inquire further.

I ran into the CEO of my company out at the pub the other day, so he bought me and everyone I was showing around, a round of drinks without even telling us. |
In related news, Monday is my 10 year anniversary at my current company. Suckers!

I turned off Windows 10's fast boot option last night. Ironically, my computer boots and shuts down 10x faster than it did with the "fast boot" option enabled.
Did I ever tell you how much I hate Windows 10? Yea...well add this to the list. Next steps: 1) figure out why it randomly prevents me from opening anything on the start menu, unless I reboot (which...by the way...rebooting would not work until I shut off fast starts) and 2) figure out why right clicking freezes the screen .... |

They built up new hires salaries REALLY quickly in the first 4-5 years so you wouldn't be able to afford to go anywhere else. |

I should have never left State Farm, but being my first real job out of school, the prospect of knowing this is where you'll be the rest of your life at 24/25 was terrifying.

That said, I find it interesting that the read throughput for large file transfers is significantly slower on a 1 year old WD 2.5" external USB drive than on a 6 year old Hitachi 500GB 3.5" drive haphazardly hacked into an external USB enclosure. Slower as in "dead God, it's been two hours and it's like 25% done. Fuck this, I'm aborting the transfer and finding a way to hook the original drive back up to the system." |

I had the same experience at Harris. Stayed 13 years, and walked away from a six-figure salary because I was bored.

My first job was at an independent bookstore. The only scenario which would have resulted in a six-figure salary for me would be the complete loss of public confidence in the federal government, massive destabilization of the financial markets, and catastrophic hyperinflation as the monetary system collapses.

I find this amusing. I was a contract worker for the first 25 years of my career. I estimate I had roughly 35-38 jobs in those years. I never was at one place longer than 3.5 years until my current gig, even including direct hires. While I don't make 6 figures, I also have it pretty cushy where I am, and I don't tolerate boredom very well.

For someone who knows about walls. I want to run commercial HDMI cables in my office from the wall (other side of wall faces the outside) into the crawlspace. Can I drill directly down while IN this wall into the crawlspace or will there be concrete there?
I'd prefer not to go down there because of possible dead rodents, spiders, and possibly encountering that dude in my sig. |

So the answer is... maybe- it depends on the insulation. If solid foam insulation was used, then no. If loose insulation was used, then you might be able to run a fish tape through the space and use it to pull the cable. |
