How (and why) to Ramble on your goat sideways
Figured you'd know more about them than i do but anyways. Having that buffer is nice since the gas motor can always be kept at the most efficient rpm/load when charging the battery. Also with an electric/generator hybrid you dont get the idle waste since whenever the gasoline motor is running it's charging the battery.

Diesel is technically can be part of an overall more efficient hybrid system (It's around 10% more energy dense than gasoline--biodiesel is less than gasoline) but it's still dirty and has sooty particulates no matter how clean people will try to convince you it is. Granted it's better now than 30 years ago, but it's still nasty.
How about a bodyfat burning car? That's pretty energy dense stuff.
New term "e-diesel". Game-changer or just another item on the wish list?

Just gotta squeeze one of these into a Miata.
My neighbor was actually the block designer for that engine. 95 liter, quad turbo, 4,000hp advertized, but it's good for >5000.
Bahurd, that's just another item on the wish list until we have clean electricity.
I am planning on vacuforming new headlight lenses for my car.
Current lenses are old, discolored and are riddled with countless hairline cracks.
Trying to decide between polycarbonate and plexiglass.
What do you think?
Also, what would you say about how thick the material should be?
(I'm thinking 2mm should be fine)
Here's my headlight setup:

w00t! Boot is off, now I'm down to just an ankle brace. Range of motion is **** and silly amounts of fatigue and soreness, but I was finally able to drive my car after 6 weeks

I saw that news story, and the first thought I had was "I hope they didn't waste all that perfectly good fish by deeming it unsaleable just because some guy died in pretty much the most horrifying way imaginable while it was being processed."
That's a lot of torque.
Constructing a clutch to deal with that would be an issue.
As is the fact that, when running in HEP-supply mode, the engine has a useful RPM range of 600-900 RPM. That'd require, what, about a seventy speed transmission? (Plus reverse in all 70 gears).
Still, some locomotives do have traction gearboxes. This one's from an OO-gauge Sentinel:
On the surface, it does look like a promising technology from both a resource-conservation and carbon-neutrality standpoint, presupposing that the insanely large amounts of electricity required as inputs to the process are produced entirely from fossil-free sources. And, as the infographic illustrates, this in in fact one way to make good use of intermittent-generating technologies such as wind and solar, provided that said sources are local to the process rather than grid-coupled.
Less than 15 minutes till curfew and there are still hundreds if not thousands still on the streets. Local media has been instructed to not show anything negative all day. You will have to find alternative sources to get the real situation and not the dancing in the streets. There is/was shots fired at officers but getting a straight story is difficult.

Start at 1:14:12 for the short version. I suggest watching the whole thing when you feel a little more nostalgic and miss the cast of Back to the Future and your favorite 80s sitcoms. All of them.

The Dodge M4S is a prototype sports coupe originally designed and built by Dodge in 1984.
The car was made famous by its appearance in The Wraith, a 1986 supernatural film. The mid-engined car had a top speed of 194.8 miles per hour (313.5 km/h) and could go from 0 to 60 miles per hour (97 km/h) in 4.1 seconds, with more than 440 horsepower (330 kW) under the hood[1] using a twin-turbocharged Dodge 2.2 inline four cylinder engine.[2]
Reportedly, there are only four M4S prototypes in existence. Dodge never planned to turn the M4S into a production car.[1] It was used as a marketing vehicle to promote Chrysler Corporation, like being a pace car at various motorsports events.[2]

In proud parental news:
My son has won another award at school: Model Citizen. Every 6 weeks or so they have a new theme that they concentrate on. This period was civility. Manners, courtesy, respect, that type of thing. It's just a certificate and a cheesy fake medal on a ribbon, but it still makes my day.

If I understood correctly, these were sealed cans being loaded into the oven for sterilization, not a bunch of loose tuna.
And that's the point. Even if the guy's body had exploded, all they'd need to do is wash the gore off the outside of the cans; there's really no possibility for contamination of the tuna with human remains.
