How (and why) to Ramble on your goat sideways
This technology will be the next 'enabler' in the machining field over the next decade. Much like NC was to manual machines and EDM to the world of die/mold making.
Incredible how much it promises to lower the cost of manufacturing.

I stand a very good shot at getting authorization to buy one. The wife has always had her sights on a red FD, but after seeing the nightmare$$$ that my friend has gone through since he bought one she's a bit less enthusiastic about it.
Lol i wonder if they are also pushing this on old cars too or only if they are pushing it on new ones from 2015+. I doubt it will ever pass however i wouldnt throw the idea completely out since there are many just as stupid things that are passed all the time.

On the ND. I 'may' bite (shark pun) in 2017 for one.
Going over what specs we have I can say I'm not pleased with the LSD being only club package and upper.
I'd like the least amount of bells & whistles of creature comforts, Focus on only the driving experience.
+1 to wifey for wanting an FD.
Why not a LS swap... nightmare?

Protip:
If your Miata has power door locks and the passenger side stops working, it's probably due to a bad micro switch in the driver side door lock.
That micro switch is not available from the dealers (they sell tha entire lock assembly for big bucks), and you need to break the switch open to get the exact code (which is ABJ141041).
Still, dealing with that switch is a major pain which involves taking the door apart and removing the glass and the entire lock assembly.
You can, instead, just get a 5 wire "master door lock actuator" for 5 to 10 bucks, install/wire it in 10 minutes, and cut/connect the 3 wires that go to the micro switch to that actuator.
Done.
tl;dr: my locks are working now.

You need to adjust that rod.
There are screws you can loosen on that rod. Loosen them, hit unlock on your remote, and then manually unlock the door, and that should synch things up.
You need to remove the door liner (cover?) for that, and that takes less than 2 minutes.

Almost never locked my doors in the US.
I lock them over here even if the top is down, and I have installed a pretty good alarm/remote starter (Avital). It's a 2 way thingie, and the key fob goes off when the alarm goes off.
These cars are VERY rare over here, people usually mess with it out of curiosity.
