Mmm, PB&J! Sometimes, nothing else can be as good.

Pork butt is below my baby back ribs. The butt has been on since about 8:30am. Ribs went on at 12:00pm. I am thinking about 6pm tonight I am going to have an amazing dinner.

In the video, it's a little easier to comprehend: It's just utterly silly. There is no way any one human could physically eat that in one sitting. I am disappoint. |

All done. The pork butt was pulled off right at 203 degrees Fahrenheit.

I'm wanting to do some slow cooking/grilling this summer. I've only attempted it once on my gas grill with wood chips over the slow flame. |

Charcoal? Wood chips? Gas? Smoker? It looks like an old round charcoal grill to me but can't tell for sure.

A nice, quick and easy, sort of half assed (didn't have the correct rice) mushroom risotto for lunch. Delicious!

I don't usually order "off the menu."
I hate being "that guy" for whom the menu isn't quite good enough, but for some reason, I just had a serious hankering for mango chicken this afternoon. It's not an exceedingly popular dish (for reasons which mystify me) and I couldn't find any restaurants on Mott St which were advertizing it. So I picked out a somewhat upscale-looking Dim Sum place, went in, ordered a Tsingtao, and asked if they could make me a plate of Chicken with Mango. As it turns out, yes- they could. (Apparently, it's only listed on the Mandarin version of the menu, not the English one. To reiterate, this befuddles me. It is one of the absolute best Chinese dishes in the world.) https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...1&d=1372018759 Imagine a non-stop orgasm in your mouth which lasts for a full 25 minutes. This was definitely one of the better mango chicken dishes I've had. They added a bit of sliced whole ginger, which is something I'd never experienced before in this context. Each time you bit into a chunk, it set off a little flavor explosion which lingered for several bites. I fucking love NY. Have I said that before? I think I may have. Let me re-state: I fucking love NY! (I honestly think that this is the part of my soon-to-be-former career I'm going to miss the most- no more frequent trips to the big apple on somebody else's nickle.) Dinner tonight? https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...1&d=1372018759 Sidebar: You know you're in the right part of Chinatown when even the McDonald's sign is in Chinese: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...1&d=1372018759 |

Damn! We tried to eat at the Peking Duck House when we were there back in April. Stayed out boozing too late and they wouldn't seat us.
