Hey guys, after a couple years using a logo I made up, I figure I'm ready for something more professional. I ran a design contest and of 170 submissions, my top 12 choices are below.
Since it's basically just for you all anyway, I'd love for your help me to not choose something stupid. You can score them here.
Thanks!
Thanks for the input. I shied away from anything too literal. For me, anything that is too specific (an injector, a tachometer, checkered flag etc.) ends up looking generic in the long run, whereas something more generic'ish (like a nicely designed arrangement of the name) has more staying power. If anyone is curious about some of the other designs, you can see all but the most horrible contributions here (I lowered the threshold for the "design jury): https://www.hiretheworld.com/logo-de...jury/13091141/

I hear you, too literal could end up looking cheesy and dated in the long run.
That said, I do really like the one you just posted. Maybe without the blue/green for the orings.
Imma have to disagree with Brain. Don't incorporate an injector shape. Be more abstract. Maybe incorporate spray pattern instead. Or leave it all out and do words only.
and immediately dump anything with any kind of arc or circle bullshit. that's some lazy designer recycling as mentioned above.
Honestly if you want a good logo, keep it stupid simple. Even simpler than you just thought. Pay attention to the font and never ever google "clever logos".
i like simple. remove the vaguely F shaped logos and circular/arc swooshes. stick with text. the gray/red is nice. Just make sure the font speaks to you and isn't something the designer thought was cool or clever.

hey also sometimes I get distracted at work...
Hey, y8s, that's pretty clever! (see what I did there)

Thanks for the input everyone!
I needed a round-ish font that wasn't a windows default and it was the first I saw. Anyway, from your list, 135 is ok. I think I prefer the font from 170 though. Not so busy. Just tell that guy to add "I N J E C T O R S" in a fat tracking space below the main name.
