6 inch metal chop saw. FAIL. Gears shattered on the 3rd or 4th use.

Chicago Die grinder FAIL. It works, but it uses massive amounts of CFM so my BIG air compressor can barely keep up. Also cuts slower than a hack saw.

Three ton Aluminum Race jack, WIN. Wanted a quality Jack for my miata AND my Tacoma. Fits the bill nicely. For the price, it had better be a WIN. Coupons never apply to it.

If so then I am on my third one over the last 9 years. They work well and I tend to probably abuse them a bit harder then I should. At the price point of them, I don't really care if I only get 2 or 3 years.

Air power is literally the most inefficient form of power. For what you put in, you barely get anything back out.
Only good for massive plants that have 50+hp screw type compressors. 100% duty cycle and can maintain 120psi forever.

years ago when i was building my hangar my son and i were in home depot early one saturday morning to pick up materials. out of the corner of my eye i spied an ingersoll-rand 2475. i diverted right to it and it was for sale for $850. i told my son, "stay here with your hand on it while i go find someone to sell me this compressor". back then there was a car commercial where people had to lick the car to make it their own, i guess that's what i was thinking. built an outside shed to house it so i don't have to listen to it when it cycles. i also plumbed in 8 (but i had to cover one up with a mural) air hose reels with black iron pipe one of my best tool purchases ever. i can't imagine shop life without compressed air to run blow guns, sandblast cabinets, spray guns, impact wrenches, die grinders, finger sanders, da sanders, grinders, and many more. the other best ever tool purchase was a two-post lift.

FYI: Harbor Freight has recalled many 6-ton (PN 61197) and 3-ton (PN 56371) jack stands for ratchet mechanisms that may come loose too easily. Other SKUs may be affected. The root cause of issue is listed worn tooling leading to poor pawl engagement.
NHTSA recall notice (6-ton)
NHTSA recall notice (3-ton)
I would count this as a "fail"

Harbor Freight recalling 454,000 jack stands because they can drop causing 'serious injury'

Be careful everyone. I personally have like 12 of these to exchange
