i have the first one. i've only used it for air hoses... don't know if i'd trust it for hydraulic hoses but for 175psi air hoses it's been fine.

I'd hope to use it for air hoses for tools and possibly power steering/ac lines.

Can't stress this enough. Was in a rush this weekend removing one of the arms while cleaning up a coilover install and use the separator to pop the arm out to replace the FUCA balljoint boot. Popped the arm out, but ended up trashing the threads on the arm (the separator arm thingy hooked the threads and smashed them all the way up) and couldn't find a tap/die set in the right size locally. Ended up having to order an arm from treasurecoast because I'm an idiot. Don't be like me.

No, but I have the bigger one.
They they are both really well-built, but the larger one will allow you to pull an engine from a Miata without having to remove the front bumper cover.

It would be dumb not to get the 2 ton version with this coupon.

Has anyone tried the hanging LED 4ft shop lights? Half my garage is lit by just the two bulbs in the garage door opener, and they sure seem like they'd fit the bill nicely.

FYI> One thing to remember (with any of HF's hydraulic tools) is that you need to make sure the fluid level is full and then bleed the system. Can't trust them the way them come across the pond. Most returns on them are attributable to those two simple tasks being overlooked.

Thanks! I like that those can be daisy-chained.

Amazon Amazon

I bought those I think but they came as a 4 pack. I just cut the plug off of them and hard wired it to a box so they work like real lights. Watch out. You'll put 6 of those bad boys in a 24x24 and you'll feel like you're inside of the sun for a while then you'll realize you cant quite work under the car without a shot light all the time and want to put a few more in.

Anything is better than the current lighting situation. I feel like I'm working on the car in Buffalo Bill's basement ditch.

Thumbs up for three products from Harbor Freight:

1. https://www.harborfreight.com/profes...s-l-63485.html Vulcan welding gloves. Fit nice (they run on the small side, which is a plus for my small hands), butter soft goat skin and well made. Can't beat the price. Several sizes available.

2. https://www.harborfreight.com/welding-cart-61316.html Welding cart. Sturdy, nicely powder coated, holds all the stuff you need at hand. Edges on cord hooks were too sharp for my liking, but a file took care of that easily. 20% off coupon honored, too.

3. https://www.harborfreight.com/4-12-i...der-69645.html Angle grinder. Cheap ($15), and eligible for 20% off coupon. Bogs down if you press too hard, but has really done the job for me. Cheap wheels seem to last pretty well.

Honorable mentions: https://www.harborfreight.com/adjust...ble-61369.html Welding table. Not as sturdy as some, but folds up and does the job. Table surface needed tweaking with a hammer to take out high spots. Half the price of others. Instructions for assembly were terrible, worse than most things they sell. As in, assembly drawing was wrong, and the various sizes of hardware were a puzzle. Good for someone who needs something to weld on, but doesn't have a lot of space. Another 20% off coupon for this one as well.

Welding helmet. Not sure about this one, as I have never used any other. But it does the job, and is reasonably adjutable. Silly graphics on front. Coupon used to bring it down to $44.

I will have to check out the HF gloves. I have been using sets from my local AirGas just because they were around long before the HF Vulcan gloves. The gloves I get are not that much different in price.

I second the welding cart and angle grinder. You can get the angle grinder for $9.99 regularly. I have 2 right now in my garage as I get to lazy to change disks. I generally get 3-5 years of use out of that specific grinder.

1000 gram mini scale. Win. I've been using this thing to weight epoxy resin and hardener since my wife was pissed that I kept taking her food scale. Toss on my disposable cup, zero it out, add resin, zero it out, and add hardener, no extra head math required. Tiny, takes up no place in the drawer, and I have found it to be very repeatable. Worked perfect for this purpose.

I got this https://www.harborfreight.com/20-gal...air+compressor

to replace a multi-decades old Craftsman oil-free compressor that needed about $100 worth of parts to be put back into service. The HF oil-lube compressor is much quieter (but it's still a compressor) and it really holds pressure when not being actively used. It seems well made. I got it for $174 with the coupon. I've had it for about a month and I'm pretty happy. However, I admit I'm not using my air tools as much as I used to...

Your purchase reminds me...I need to purchase a budget friendly air compressor for sand blasting and air tools. Any expience with any of HF's sub $400 air compressors? Basically the mcgraw 21gallon vs 29 gallon central pneumatic...or well, any other brand works.

I've never seen a new compressor in that price range that won't suck with air tools, blasting or painting... Most of them are 5-6 SCFM/ 90psi... not enough for heavy use.
