Grrr.. Shipping $$ misquote
I ordered stuff from a miata vendor last week, international address, shipping calculated automatically (it seemed) etc got an email over the weekend saying "our website does not calculate International orders we'll contact you with the difference"... ehhh so its a misquotation they supply? I'd bought the item on the basis of their shipping.
If they were in the EU I'd be throwing them :
Pre-contractual information: It obliges traders provide the consumer with information on product characteristics, their geographical location and identity and the final price - inclusive of all tax and shipping charges - before purchase.
Will see what they come back with.

The problem you will have is that there is no such thing as the "trading standards act" in the U.S. In the U.K, or EU, at this point you have paid, its their problem now. They HAVE to send it to you. Not so in the states.
As a yank living in England I am not going to get into the "which is better" debate, but just FYI. they will tell you what the shipping will be and if you refuse then they just give back what you have paid so far.thats that, deals off.
Thank GOD my father (still in the states) is willing to be my go between. none of these turbo parts piling up under the desk here would have been anywhere close to as good a deal if I had to pay the shipping rates US company's charge to get it here. Not to mention all of it was "gifted" to me.......

V.true.
Thats cool, no debate here I'm not in the UK and it wasn't a comparison I was making. I have a bud in MI who helps me out by remailing via USPS, I'd be v.poor without him.
I'll be happy to get a refund but narked they don't have their **** together.
