Forza 3
so i have played just about every racing game ever made since gt3 a spec. i just played the forza 3 demo and well... the demo was better then 95% of racing games i have played in my life. the car control to controller is the best ever. it's smooth and feels like i'm in the car, the dead zones are spot on and the analog inputs settings are so well done.
i came.....

I thought it was kind of underwhelming compared to Forza 2. AI seem to ignore you more and run you off the track. The camera irritates me, it shakes and jitters in the outside car view, but then the interior view looks smooth when it should be jittery. I also think the handling physics feel a bit more arcade. I hope its just the fact its a 1 track and 5 car demo. The crash physics also kind of lets me down. I was expecting much more from that.

I liked forza 2 a lot, but not nearly as much as GT3, I think I mostly enjoyed how many cars their were, it had all sorts of old cars and lots of economy cars, I had lots of fun taking a crappy car and slowly tweaking everything to see how fast I could make it.

i played it with every assist off and ai at super hard, the r3 class was bad ***. ai ran different lines depending on where other cars were at. i watched the replay and it looked like a real race, 2-3 car wide in turns where forza 2 it liked like cars driving around in a straight row fallowing the same line.

I used to be a GT fanboy, but they really let themselves get behind. GT5 will probably bring the series back to the lead, but GT3 and GT4 were boring really. Physics weren't that great, no crash or damage physics, a lot of the same **** from GT1 and GT2. I wish I still had my PS3 for GT5 though.

The miata in forza was a prime example, we all know how extremely neutral a miata is, sometimes with a little tendancy towards understeer. But in forza the miata wants to throw the rear end out like an MR2, lol

idk man, the graphics were deffinatly not as good as forza 2 but it was released for a less powerful system and its much older, and i disagree about the physics of the game. I felt that the feeling of the cars was more realistic than forza in a lot of ways. Forza seems to always have the cars oversteering absurdly all the time, where in GT you could introduce oversteer realistically by cutting over and late apex'ing.

I'd still say overall I am a bigger GT fan, but GT3 and GT4 to me were big let downs. If I had a PS3 I would be all over GT5, but I sold it and got another 360, so I'm stuck with Forza 3 for now. PC simulators is still where its at if you want physics, but GT and Forza are the best consoles have to offer, so you have to live with it I guess.
The screens I have seen, GT5 has better graphics in general, better in car graphics for sure, and if the old GT's and Prologue are anything to go by, it has better physics as well. I wish I had a PS3. With the new PS3 slim, I may go buy one when it comes out.

speaking of PC racing sims, I downloaded a demo of Race 07 off of steam and was blown away. Don't have a wheel for the PC, but it was like GT on steroids for the physics. I think the problem with GT4 is that it is basically GT3 with a different menu more cars and better graphics. It didn't revolutionize the series like GT3 did. Forza is nice for higher end cars, but I enjoy buying second hand suzuki wagons and racing against other featherweights less than 100mph.
