Am I the only one who can't see what's in this post?
No, as usual, Brainey attempted to hotlink to an image directly from his Gmail account, forgetting that this does not work. He will shortly complain about what a piece of **** Gmail / IB are, while refusing to use the "Copy Image > Paste" command, under the justification that this will somehow threaten the security clearance which he holds with the US Government, which he frequently criticizes.
674 miles with 10.26 gallons. Most of that was at 85mph hilly.
The last 200 miles were glorious, i finally drove in a horizontal landscape. Even at 6600 feet, it was pegging the mpg meter running full lean just driving around normally. Just witchcraft.
This thread made me go buy '05 Civic Hybrid; 5 speed, 217k miles, an intermittent IMA light, in decent condition for $1400. Unfortunately I just couldn't justify another 2 seater, or it definitely would have been an insight.
I'm anxious to see what it does. So far it got 39.6mpg on the 150 mile drive home that was almost all 80-85mph. I'm hoping it'll average 50mpg on the daily commute.
Haha. Glad I could help get another hybrid on the team! Going 80+ on level road, at 6000ft, iirc I get 50-60mpg depending on a few variables. If you are at sea level, I think 50mpg at 80mph would be optimistic, given the civics higher drag, and denser air.
804.2 miles with 10.19 gallons of gas. All mountain highways. Steep (15%) grades, some lasting 20 miles, 5500ft-10000ft elevation range, high crosswinds... Im happy with that!
I also started using the a/c to aid the compression braking downhill. I am pretty smug about that, even though its a simple thing.
