NEVER trust your local backyard mechanic that charges basically pennies for installs, or if you do, go over every single thing and verify it's done right.
just spend the last 3 hours attempting to tune an 03 wrx with vf turbo and supporting mods that had his injectors installed by the above mentioned hack, and after spending all that time and repeating at least a dozen times that there's a leak somewhere, and that fueling is way off, I finally tell him to pop the hood and dive in, to discover the vacuum line to the FPR just hanging there, not even slightly connected to the manifold.
Good kid, and I don't mind people trying to save money, but he learned a lesson today.

A friend had the "leaking valve cover gaskets" in her WRX changed only to find out on her own that the source of the leak was her PS hard line.
I don't think I'll ever be able to trust anyone wrenching on my cars.
And then the tuning session goes like this:
-"was everything installed right?"
-yup
-"are you absolutely 100% sure the car is tip top?"
-yup
-"you don't want me to look everything over and possibly do a boost leak test?"
-nope, all's good
.....
3 hours later
-"fueling is inconsistent, car isn't pulling enough vacuum, adding 15% fuel at idle, and there is definitely a leak or regulator issue. we can't proceed until this is diagnosed and fixed"
I had one of those as a rental in Sweden for a couple weeks, except with the diesel, and it was great. Seriously the most comfortable automobile seats I've ever sat in.
that's sweet. details?
I always liked those cars, but never got one due to not sure of their reliability long term
2015 Volvo V60 T6 R-Design Platinum.
I had to drive a couple hours down to Boston to find one, the T6 V60s are uncommon (at least on the used market), so when I saw one come up for sale that wasn't silver I jumped on it. I do wish it had the climate package, as I loved the heated windshield in my old outback and a heated steering wheel would be nice in the winter, but I was afraid if I passed on this one I wouldn't see another T6 come up in a cool color for a while.
It has 37k miles, and I hope to keep it for at least 10 years. I hope the reliability is on par with Volvos of old, though I do know it's going to cost more to fix than I've become used to.
And you're all right; the seats are SO COMFORTABLE! The R-Design is the sport/tuning/appearance thing (All the T6 V60s have it, and the polestar tune), and the R-Design seats have awesome bolstering with just the right amount of padding and support. I'm looking forward to some of my long highway trips in this car.
I am not looking forward to buying snow tires/wheels. TireRack says it will cost me $1,700.

Wait, so... worse than me showing up with the stuck wastegate and the non functional EBC?
I always rave about Injector Dynamics, and they have yet to disappoint me:
emailed them on Monday cause their data sheet for the new ID1050x was missing a few data points. Tuesday morning I have an email with an updated datasheet with everything I need.
But seriously, I traded an old laptop for it so its not like I'm expecting anything tangible from it. Its full recirculating so I assume all its going to do is add noise. Probably won't screw up my tune?
