I drove a 2015 335i xdrive m-sport on Wed. Wasn't overly impressed. Car felt closer to my '09 wrx in terms of ride quality and fit/finish. The steering wheel felt so cheap and the steering feel felt odd as well. You felt ever bump and imperfection in the road -- suspension was harsh. Interior was really basic, and they still haven't integrated the huge screen in the 3-series -- just sticks out like a i-pad bolted to the top of the dash. I really left with the impression I was driving a hopped up economy car like the neon or colbat or lancer.
Pretty sure that car has a sound tube dumping into the engine bay from the intake -- such a boring intrusive sound.
Had a lot of get power, but somehow it still just felt like a wound up i4, and not a 3.0L i-6 with a turbo. The table flat torque curve probably has something to do with it.
The 8-sp trans is FAST, but I think the only way I could drive that car would be with the 6-sp to actually enjoy it.

The 135i is a good buy, can easily spot if they were ever JB4 or not as well, would err towards the N55 over the N45 and if your near the ~70K mark be ready for a water pump/thermostat (driveway job). I used mine as a daily for a few years, great power, solid MPG. Good luck sticking more than a 245 series up front though...

18x9.5 ET58 = 265/35 on the back.
I've read depending on the tire/exact offset/roll, you can stuff a 275/35 out back if the car isn't slammed.
I don't know how long I'm going to keep my '13 DCT car. My commute is all city streets, highest speed limit is 45, so mash the throttle and you're doing well over the speed limit.

Ridgeline doesn't like to tow the Miata without downshifting constantly. 5 speed automatic transmission can't be locked in 4th for highway towing, only 3rd. And 3rd is way too low for highway speed. But they ride well and have useful interior storage capacity when the back seats are folded up.

Gen2 with 6 speed has "D4" towing mode. 4th gear ratio is 1.065:1 on the 6 speed.

I have been considering a tacoma or a colorado. I have heard the tacoma has some opportunities with respect to responsiveness. I drove the colorado anf loved it but the interior was meh. It seems a full size truck is a lot more bang for the buck especially when u get a used one. New tacoma ~34k and a new colorado ~37k used full size fully loaded ~35k. Obviously this is based on what i spec'd on the websites and averaged used truck #s. My drive to work is 20 miles and I interact with a lot of idiot drivers and semi trucks. Utility of a truck is epic. My driveway would be packed tight due to size of truck.

Anyone have any opinions or experiences with the newest generation IS350? I'm looking for something more modern to replace my 98 LS400 and the looks have me hooked. With such a small difference in price between the 300 and the 350 it almost doesn't make sense to look at the 300. That weird little mouse thing to navigate the infotainment system is pure AIDS tho, I drove a Gs350 F sport for a day that had the same thing.

and they still havent updated it.
I had the is350 f-sport on my list, but the interior is a joke. they haven't refreshed it since 2013 or whenever it came out: it's still a tiny low-resolution screen, still a basic/flat ugly console. Which is sad because the rest of the styling of that car is so modern and interesting. The dash cluster is really cool, the center console looks straight out of 1980.
and they are really overpriced and underpowered.
i started looking at the c400.

A lot of different Lexus models have the same interior design style too. I don't hate the interior but I definitely am not in love with it. I don't know if I can get past the infotainment though, that's my biggest issue with the car by far.

to be fair, ive seen worse interior and it's still not a slouch. But the GS interior just looks so much better. But when I was pricing them, they were always so much more expensive to the bmw/mb counterparts.
i know, splurge for a gs 400h f-sport awd. just as fast as the is350 with much better mpgs! not an N/A v6 with v8 TT MPG ratings...
