Bought a cargo trailer
Not car related in any way, but the family and I have to live in VaBch for 3 months before moving to New Orleans, and I wanted to take as much stuff for the kids as I could... plus my poker table.
I did a ****-ton of homework on trailers before I bought if anybody has any questions. It's a 5x8 w/13" rims. I bought at Trailers-Plus, which has a great video on their website that finally sold me. At 750lbs, the 4Runner (2wd/V6) doesn't even know it's there. I might put as much as 500lbs in it all said and done, so well under 1500lbs total, so I'm not worried that there are no brakes.
When I finally hit New Orleans, I'll probably be interested in selling it if anybody is interested. My costs, inlcuding a 13" spare tire, and mounting hardware for tie-down loops inside is right at $1900.
I had been finding 10 and 15yr old used ones locally for $1500 and people laughing when I offered less... so buying new was really the only option.
I'm thinking about painting the fenders and maybe some pin-striping to match... just give it a little flavor. Plus a bunch of Navy stickers or whatever.
