Bomb hills....not countries.
Yo guys, I haven't had alot of time at the computer lately due to a new passion that I want to share. After 15 or so years of skateboarding I finally grew up and graduated.....to longboarding. ******* boards look like silver surfer decks and the wheels with throw 1" rocks outta the way. Board cost me $160 and had it for a couple months now.
My buddy and I started out in parking lots and small hills for about 2 weeks and then it happened. We're starting to get out of control....lol. Basically any hill he wants to hit, I'm down, and vice versa. Some hills are a 10-15 minute walk and they're all uphill. We usually do hills in the 30mph range, but we have gone about 45mph max at an apartment complex.
The rush is like non-other. Snowboarding has been part of my life for years now, but it cant touch this feeling. Going so fast down the hills knowing there's no ******* up is nuts. I'm starting up a website soon and I'm gonna share with other longboarders how we do it. I plan on having locations complete with a google map location, day/night videos, pictures, and data. We have been doing blood pressure checks before and after runs, the results are pretty cool to compare throughout the night.
We have had some crazy close calls, especially if we go out during the day. We have bombed hills so fast we keep right up with cars doing the speed limit, sometimes we are actually speeding on longboards. Last night we hit about 10 different locations and on our last one I ate it. I hit sand while turning a corner at probably 30mph and was sent flying. My hands were numb for about 1 hour after the fact. I straight up slid my hands right into the curb to protect my face. But in any case, it woke me up to take it easy a bit and the plus is I didn't have to make a hospital trip.
Here's a video from lastnight, 1st run on this particular cruise. My buddies gf was the lift for the night and took the videos. I also attached my aftermath of my fall.

I realized I need to get a better camera and make sure I get day film, cause on my other computer you cant even make out half the video I posted.
For anyone that knows blood pressure related info;
My pulse is usually around 125-130bpm
My buddies is around 70-80bpm
My highest blood pressure came out as 164/135
His highest was 152/93
It changes all through the night, depending on before and after runs and how steep the hills are. I'm learning now how to set up a google map of all the places we go. Our pact to each other is every night we go out, we do at least 1 new hill. So far we have about 25 spots on our resume.

Oh the memories. I longboarded a little bit but usually just hit the hills on my skateboard. I like how you pointed out that the wheels on a longboard will kick the rocks out of the way. Man it only takes a rock the size of a cunthair to ruin your day on a skateboard. Been there too many times to count.
