Beer of the Day thread (and ci-derp)

Tried a growler from Whole Foods. Not impressed so far. They had 5 taps of which 2 were oatmeal stouts, 2 were IPA's, and the 5th was something uninteresting (Irish red? can't remember). And unless I'm getting something that is either (1) hard to find or (2) expensive, I don't know why I wouldn't just get a six pack or a big bottle.

Aparently the Danes do not **** around with their lagers. I can't imagine trying to push 10% ABV out of a lager yeast without it tasting like a combination of *** and jet fuel.
I'd also try it.

It smells and tastes like a mix of pure alcohol ,dark beer and some sick unknown ingredient
I rather drink a bootle of mixed Vodka on the Weekend ,than 4 of these and i'm not that sensitiv.
In Belgium/Luxembourg for Example they have many strong Beers with 10-20% of Alcohol ,i tried some of them also ,but even with more alcohol they don't taste so obtrusively and ******* your Head like the black Faxe does .
Propably it's only me and i have a intolerance

Well well, looky what those boys over at Lagunitas have just released:
2015 ScareCity #3: High West-ified Imperial Coffee Stout
per Lagunitas' website: RIDICULOUSLY LIMITED
(apparently, this is their first barrel aged to be released in bottles)
I just opened a bottle. It is simply exquisite.
If you see some, do not hesitate, buy it!
EDIT: I just finished the bottle and ran back to the store where I found it; bought out their entire remaining stock (i.e. 12 bottles).

Not a fan of Lagunitas but that is something I'd try. It looks like one of the BBQ places here in town has it on tap, maybe I'll go check out their lunch menu tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up!

Just bought a six of something called "Night Owl Cream Porter". Not bad, but has a hint of yeastiness to it. Tastes very much like a homebrew. Not that that is a bad thing.
When the hell did beer get so expensive?

When it started getting all crazy and hipster~ish. The "craft beer movement" has proven that people are willing to pay for crazy exotic things, and sadly prices have been creeping upwards ever since.

It's been a good while since I've bought a beer that I've really loved. I did really enjoy DuClaw's EXiled x-9 coffee porter; bordered on too much coffee, but was tasty.
X-9: 865cc Coffee Stout | DuClaw Brewing Company | Baltimore, MD | BeerAdvocate
I currently have a hard cider, black kolsch (Stone Sproketzbier inspired), and an English Red on tap. This weekend, we'll be brewing 20g of light lager, 20g of Mexi lager, and probably 10g of a Munich IPA.

And that didnt just effect the price, it change the taste of beer. Holy **** I had a wheat beer last year that was more bitter than some IPAs. Jesus ****, more bitter does not mean more better. ****, a well done IPA isnt supposed to be bitter even, its supposed to be dry and hoppy, and not an attempt at setting a new IBU high score. Go have a redhook IPA if you want a good IPA, have a RacerX if you want to drink everything wrong with modern craft brewing.
