Default Another installment of Jewish Luck

This is called, Sam and his collection of downpipes.

First downpipe: Bought four months ago in January from Cueball1 here under the impression and full confidence its for a 1.8 NA. Tried to install it and determined its for an NB. Transaction happened to long ago, says hes not responsible.

Second downpipe: Purchased two weeks ago from Teknician, formerly property of Ben. Under the impression the pipe was for my car. Guess what? Nope, it doesnt fit my car and he doesnt want to take it back because he says its my job to ask him questions to determine what car its for even though he clearly said its for a 1.8 in his for sale thread and ebay ad.

Third downpipe: Begi-S received last week. Today I go to install the upper half onto the turbo and the lowest bolt( thats behind the pipe) cant be threaded onto the stud because it interferes with the pipe. But I am certain Begi will resolve this ASAP.

Perfect luck huh, and just in time for passover.

I wonder how many more downpipes ill have to go through before I get one that works.

Maybe I can melt down three downpipes and make one uber downpipe.

Just spoke to Corky.

Its a defect in their S pipe, yay, I just had to find it. Told me to bang on the pipe until theres enough room for the nut to fit. If it dont work I can send the upper half in for replacement.

I'm gonna be pissed if my downpipe doesn't fit right. After the other issues I've had, I'll burn the car to the ground. (If the g/f doesn't do it before me.)

Want to elaborate?

I think I only remember you mentioning massaging the shelf behind the downpipe.

I don't think she would burn it, more like, accidently leave the e-brake down when it's on a steep hill or something.

Got the nut onto the stud. It hit the pipe every time I turned it and it rounded a bit, but at least its on. Also the stud had to be stupidly short, exposing only three threads or so, otherwise it would have never worked. I used the same studs all around, and I really hope it works because I didnt use a gasket, or lock washers, and the the nut isnt completely on the stud, leaving 1 thread unused.

I think begi should consider using at the very least four studs longer then the fifth to at least engage those nuts completely.
