Fuck.
This thread made me all weepy and nostalgic, so I started googling. Turns out there are still several BBSes online (accessible via Telnet) which host TradeWars2002. There goes the rest of my free time for the next year... |
Vroom Vroom.. Er.. Zoom Zoom.. Just me or does the back of that kinda resemble a 911 now? Wish I could find a few videos of it ripping around a track.. Kinda digging the sound... |

I wonder if it's actually the 4.3 V8, since I think those are SC430 headlights. At least they have a very similar shape, and it would make sense that maybe he had a donor car for all of that stuff.
After finding a few twin-turbo SC430s online it sounds like a pretty legit method.. http://www.lextreme.com/pul/IMG_1712.jpg (Not the same car.. just too sexy not to post) http://blog.bespokeventures.com/wp-c...9/01/art01.jpg |
I've always like the SC430 and now they are affordable but I wouldn't want to imagine the maintenance costs on that retractable hardtop. Has anyone seen what an ordeal it is to get a 3000GT Spyder's top serviced?

it looks retarded and non functional.
|
Of course it does. That design could never work in real life. It's just cool as hell to see someone build something I drooled over constantly when I was a geeky kid.

bl,ahhh

I do still fire up the NES games from time to time. I finished Kid Icarus a few months ago. Never did that before. And that BBS documentary, I actually downloaded it when it first came out, but I honestly didn't find it all that interesting. I only watched the first hour or so, but all I took from it was a couple of guys sitting around talking about their machines. None of the social aspect of early computing seemed to be reflected... HST anyone? Attachment 240526 |

Why not, I'll comment on this too. Thats what happens when you build 500 bikes that look identical, yet expect $200,000 for them.
I mean, I knew they were pricey, but $200k? Seriously? Is it really that much better than a Ferrari F430? |
they built their $12 million HQ in 2009, now its worth like 7 mill because of the econ...
so they stopped paying went into "foreclosure" and are renegoitating the mortgage. sad thing is, the lender pretty much has to play ball, because some money is better than none. A factory OCC bike starts at around 30K, im sure the ones on tv are at least a quarter mill. |
|
W T F. That sucks!

So, as best as I can tell, people will actually pay a quarter of a million dollars for a motorcycle which they can't ride that was thrown together at the last minute by an angry man with a beard, his idiot son, and some of his idiot son's slacker friends. I'm in the wrong line of work. Sidebar: OMG OMG OMG, WE JUST HAD AN EARTHQUAKE! WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!! (wait, what?) Oh. Ok. Everything is fine and we're not all going to die. |

A roughly equivalent HD chopper is $20,000, figure that out. That being said this seems reasonably priced at $8000 and I want one: http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...e/iron-883.jpg Although I'm sure it sucks. |

Basically, Except two idiot sons don't talk to their father anymore and have started their own custom motorcycle shop. :giggle: I've been wanting one of these... http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...e/iron-883.jpg The Harley "custom chopper" is guaranteed to be a bike you can actually ride. Most of the crap OCC builds is custom junk that sits in a showroom. Not to mention, Harley builds things like that on an assembly line here in KC... I've been attempting to find this video for a couple years and finally found it.. |
The most uninteresting Nurburgring video ever..
The Fiat 500 Abarth SS gets passed by a fucking BMW X5.. :ugh: |

I'm going to go out on a bit of a limb here and state, with great honesty and sincerity, that the CB250 Nighthawk is still the greatest motorcycle which has ever been built.

Nope.
Some day, when you become a man, you will understand why this is so. |
Actually, if I'd been allowed to buy a motorcycle as a teenager as I had wanted, chances are good I'd never have reached manhood.

Some of the locals here have gone chapter 11 2-3 times to get their fleet stocked, then actually start paying their bills once they get everything for 1/4 of what its supposed to cost. Meanwhile the guys that actually pay their bills end up driving 1988 GMC's like us. I seriously want to go on the local news or have an article in the paper asking how these guys are allowed to ride around town like big shots when they basically stole everything they have. If only their kids on FB flashing hundred dollar bills knew what a fucking loser daddy is in "real life". Dont even get me started. lol |

You guys have been doing your cold air intakes wrong. This way is awesome and only cost $7.50. Much easier.
