The cat was in that location because of the warmth coming from the escalator motor on a cold day. Ascribing evil intent to the cat tells more about the viewer than the cat.

Mobile app picture uploader still broken.

My cat did it to me in bed last night. When I fell asleep I was in the middle. When I woke up cat was in the middle and I was way off to one side.

That's one STRONG cat!

Heads up: One day he's "gonna" kill you when you really piss him off!

I love that your ramp is a 2x4 and a brick. My dad would take a whole afternoon to build me a ramp. He would have blueprints, trusses, cross-members... a fully structural unit. He'd drive the truck over it at a decent clip before he certified it for use with the neighborhood kids.

Yeah, I'm a plumbing contractor. I can build him a ramp out of pvc pipe but I don't your dad would approve the engineering or execution.

He finally broke through for a fastest lap in a heat. Plus he got involved in a great battle for position with two other kids. It was freakin awesome to watch but they came up on a much slower kart and lots of bumping and crashing ensued after that. He seems to just be into it for fun but you never know if it will become competitive.

Rather artsy and melodramatic video performance. The music was good but the lyrics were designed to portray an avant-garde/self-involved vibe that was purposefully over the top. It was difficult to indulge him except for the other musicians and tune being good. I could listen to it if the lyrics were more tolerable. But I'm sure you were looking for something else in the music from what I got from it and that's good. Music is very subjective, which is why there are so many varieties of it.

Wound up getting lucky. Talked w/ Tom, and he had enough B-stock parts lying around to put together what I am told will be the last relocation kit to ship.

Prost!

Is he shutting down shop a la Boss Frog? Or just not selling that part specifically anymore?

I never really understood the point of that piece, but it looked nice i suppose. My MSM had one.

Not shutting down shop, just decided to stop producing a part which is specific to '99-'05 vehicles, and for which demand is apparently waning.

I always envied this piece when I had an NA. I have never, in 25 years of car ownership, done a filter change that didn't result in oil dribbling down my arm and all over the floor, regardless of how many diapers / maxi pads I stuffed around it. I'm at an age where I'm sick of that shit.

Seems very well made. The ports are big, the threads are clean, and it was free of swarf. Only reason this one was B-stock was that one of the tapped holes for the rubber feet was munged. I can live with that.

Have to admit I'm a tad leery of the press-fit hoses, but I've read a bunch of XRP / Aeroquip reviews, and the stuff seems to work.

I'm always slightly weirded out when food packaging / advertising features a picture of the animal which was slaughtered to make it, cheerfully urging me to eat it.

Was FM not around at that time? I have a relocation kit, that I bought used. It mounts the filter on the firewall on the passenger side. A Cool Whip container fits under it perfectly to catch any drops. That and a Fumoto valve mean oil changes are quick, easy and clean.

Yeah, along with Moss, JC Whitney, and a bunch of others. At the time, I had a CARB sticker and a (gutted) FPR occupying that space on the firewall, plus I hadn't yet become enough of a grumpy old fart who gave a shit about oil dribbling down his arm to engineer a better solution.

Remember, this was back when I thought that attaching a circular-saw blade to the front of the crank pulley was a perfectly sane and reasonable idea. :giggle:

Can be upgraded unnecessarily. I think I still have the original hoses...

Braineack 02-28-2018 04:30 PM

the oil change on my prelude is the worst. there's no way to prevent oil from dripping directly on the exhaust; and on a flexpipe to boot. it's also on firewall side of the motor and very high on the block, so you have to jack the car pretty high and crawl all the damn way under.

my MB has the oil filter up on the front top of the motor and it's so amazing to replace.

My S2K also has an enviable filter location compared to my Miata. Easy to reach and doesn't drip on anything on the engine or in the bay.

My wife HAD a dodge journey. I traded it in before the 2nd battery change. You know why? It's in the front fender in front of the drivers wheel and total torture to take out and change. When it got to 3 years after I replaced the first one, time for a new car for her.

Yup, that's the exact same one I was looking at.

I normally use the filter for a Honda B18B engine (Integra, Civic, etc) but the canister OD is too large for the base of the Thompson thingy.
