Yeah I'll bring my go pro. I've heard there are some nasty electrical noise issues, so hopefully it wont affect it too bad.

My childhood home was pink. Pale, pastel pink, but pink nonetheless. When Dad was considering moving in the mid 1980's, they repainted light blue. Several of the neighbors complained to them that they had lost a landmark. When giving directions, it was always "across from the pink house", or three doors up from the pink house".

I am colorblind, so I never saw it as pink, but as a pale beige.

But the low was like 72. Just get up before noon and do it.

It's not like I want to be outside mowing in 60% humidity and 90F weather either. So I get up and mow at 8am when it's only 80 degrees and 80% humidity. And then I wring out my sweaty balls and have some iced tea.

Same. My house was light pink for the first 10 years of my life. It's now a boring light green.

Those look like Half-Life levels to me. Just need a few headcrabs.

After playing Dishonored 2 a couple weeks ago I was walking around downtown Campbell, looking up at the buildings thinking "Hm, I could blink up onto that ledge, then over there..."

Every military base I've ever been on has 100 places that look just like that. You wanna preserve anything on a military base, just find one single fucking "protected" anything living in or on or around it, and the cost of complying with the hundreds of environmental regs to remove/relocate/compensate whatever makes it impossible.

TRUE STORY:
A buddy of mine flying a Cobra had an oil pressure light inflight somewhere east of 29Palms. Since he was in a Cobra, he just landed out in the scrub and tightened the line with his leatherman. This would never be allowed in a Navy helicoptor, but Marines do their own thing. He gets back to base and reports the incident... helicoptor fixed properly and all is good.
1 WEEK LATER: He gets a call to report to the Maint desk and there are "suits" there to meet him. They are from the EPA and base Hazmat. They want to know if his helicoptor "leaked" on the ground when he landed. "Sure, maybe a cup or so dripped down the fuselage, it was a big oil line".
I SHIT YOU NOT: Since the oil touched the ground from a ground-based vehicle in "sensitive area", they take him out there (4 hour drive) into the scrub and make him find the exact location... which was hard because it all looks the same. They actually find where he touched down, and I SHIT YOU NOT, bagged up about 100 gallons of dirt and removed it from the desert... then "treated" it to remove the oil, and replaced it a week later.

And people get pissed because milspec toilet seats cost $500.

I have utterly no idea. The lot shapes get weird at the cul-de-sacs, but I hadn't noticed that one specific fence until you mentioned it.

I also hadn't noticed that house has a shed out back, which is prohibited by the covenants. So I don't have to worry about that neighbor being a dick.

codrus 06-21-2017 08:37 PM

CC&Rs prohibit sheds? WTF? Where are you supposed to keep this lawn mower?

--Ian

Joe Perez 06-21-2017 08:52 PM

Speaking only for myself, I intend to keep it in the enclosed back patio. The charger will live in the garage.

Also, I realized that the garage door has a powered opener. This means that there's a 120v outlet on the ceiling, so all I need to do is string some SJOOW, and there's no need for clandestine electrical work. Won't drive a welder or a big compressor, but these are things which I have no intention of purchasing in the next year.

First episode of season 2 is done...
I am exhausted.

They gave us a 1972 Renault 12 and wanted us to build a land boat out of it.
A ship that travels on wheels.

Here is what the car looks like:
(Not the actual car)

When I saw that video, I was going to comment "Brainey doesn't like her, because she's pretty, and according to his reality, if you are both pretty and popular, then you are popular because you are pretty, not because you are talented. Ergo: she is not talented."

But the ops manager came into my office with an emergency that I had to solve, which I solved.

Then the news director called with some bullshit from Studio 2 which turned out to be that one of the anchors had fucked with the video settings on their laptop, which took 60 seconds to fix and 15 minutes to explain that, no, there is literally nothing that we in engineering can do to prevent the talent from dicking around with the settings on the on-set laptops, and that they shouldn't touch things they don't understand.

Then my PM construction crew came on shift, so I spent the next hour reviewing drawings with them and handing out work assignments.

Then my #2 guy came in and we spent the next hour reviewing the plan for tomorrow, when we're going to update the firmware on the whole Wheatstone audio system for all three production control rooms (to be fair, this is a major deal which I do not take lightly.)

Then I realized that I hadn't yet gotten back to my counterpart at our backup uplink / master control site in Indy about a rather complex question he'd emailed me about this morning concerning a new program that we're going to start carrying on one of our national network starting July 1 and for which we still have not had a single completely successful transmission test from the provider (Comcast is dropping the shit out of our packets somewhere between the CHI headend and our local NOC, and they can't figure out why, despite the fact that we just payed a bunch of money to upgrade our extranet circuit to fucking 1 Gb/s (This is in addition to the other two internet circuits we have with them, one of which is ALSO 1 Gb/s, the other is 400 Mb/s)), so I called him back and we chatted for a while, and came up with a plan to do a backhaul from them to us over one of the MPLS circuits as a backup starting this coming Monday.

And then I went home and poured a glass of scotch.

And then I realized that I hadn't hit "Submit Reply."

So fuck it all. She's both pretty and talented, and I don't give an inverted pork rectum if you think she's not expressive enough. :giggle:

Or is there a differential buried down inside there, with the rotor taking the place of the ring gear? Seems like a lot of total weight for a small reduction in un-sprung weight.

Also, guess who just got a shiny new pallet jack?
