Heat shielding temp measurements to share after fully hot (yes, in portrait mode because I wasn't thinking clearly).
|
Emissivity.
On the shiny parts you are effectively measuring the reflected temp of the surroundings, not the actual temp on the face of your heat shield. Shiny metal = IR mirror. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...fe9555fad9.jpg |

The soft top has some holes in it, so the interior got wet and is in very rough shape. The car will start and stay running. But it definitely runs a little rough. It does have a rebuilt title as well. You will want to have a trailer to take this away. |

Saw a new civic si hatchback today. Holy shit, if you think the Prius rear end is ugly, you gotta see this thing in person. I nearly barfed on my steering wheel. It looks like psychedelic robots designed it.

Do you know how hard it is to visibly raise the ire of a car salesman while you're in the process of buying a car from him? I managed to pull it off. Honestly, I assumed the damn thing was a Scion when I first saw it.

Christopher SchraderIn this photo are three structural nodes, intended to hold cables above a road in The Hague. The difference is the node on the far left was designed by a human, and on the far right by a computer. More importantly, the node on the far right supports the same weight, but weighs 75% less and is 50% smaller. It makes you think where design and aesthetics will shift toward, in a future where computers design our world. |

Got a new air conditioner delivered today: https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...da87ab5ac0.png Just a little standalone unit for two rooms we're building in what used to be garage-type space in the building. Been unused since we built the new garage a few years ago. |

So I bought time-lapse camera and wanted to share the first pour we shot with you guys. I figured it's a different approach at typical construction marketing and our customer's love the idea and all want copies. Next I'll be recording the construction of a 9000sqft house we just started. Should be a good video showing the entire process of 16' high basement walls from start to finish.
HD setting should be turned on for best results. Took us 2 weeks to prep the rebar and forms for this massive equipment pad and yesterday we covered it all up with concrete. 270 total yards put down and finished right before dark. The double rainbow was a sign that the chaotic day it may had been, went well. Everyone's happy and now we start forming up the 2nd half. |
I may have been drinking this evening, but that is fucking cool. :likecat:. Thanks Vash! What are you using for a camera?
Also, I feel like someday I'm going to end up being James May. Or maybe I just hope I'll end up being James May. |
