My father (also a car nut) just found a 31K 75 914 that we are resurrecting. The air-cooled VW stuff is insanely expensive. Raby is sort of King of this stuff and his waiting list is a couple of years long. The hot ticket for jugs is LN "nickies" A 96mm set with JE pistons will set you back 4k+. Just pistons, jugs, rings. No German elf to put it together either. These guys get excited at 150hp! Miatas are far far cheaper than you can imagine...
