In the 1982 film The Thing, the alien being which is able to mimic the form of anything it touches enters the Antarctic research output in the form of a sled dog, which has escaped from the nearby Norwegian research station. Of course, the Americans are unaware of the existence of said alien, so they invite the creature into their camp, and it proceeds to kill most of them in pretty horrible ways.
At the time, however, they just perceive it as being a genuine, authentic dog. Recently, people have been buying $8 blue check marks, and then posing as other people and organizations, including Twitter management itself. : |

I remember from the movie about Facebook that they started out with Ivy League schools, then top universities...very exclusive. "Trade Tech" never got their own version. Seems like Twitter copied this Blue Blood Blue Check system. Picture required https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...b26523c0f7.jpg |

Cane toads are a feral introduced species in Australia and are why we now have very strict laws regarding bringing animals and new species into Australia.
This is how we deal with toads in QLD (see 0.44 onwards): The long version of the history of cane toads in Australia (worth watching if you have the time): |
