My back of a napkin calculations tell me this PPF is good to go...
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...288cf9a84.jpeg You have to believe in the power of the self tapping screw. All jokes aside, that was a quick way to tack the PPF in place for the final measurements of the "receiver" prototype on the bimmer gearbox. Moving along nicely. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...0f696f35a.jpeg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...bf8877254.jpeg Full thread on this soon. I promise. Oh, have you noticed the custom driveshaft? Good to about 900 lbs torque. |

Excellent! Now we know the torque target.
This driveshaft will spin 24% slower compared to the stock Miata unit. Transmitting torque at lower rpms is pretty taxing on drivetrain components. Imagine the strain on the chain when you stand on the pedal to accelerate your bike from a very slow speed. Coupled with the fact that my torques unload at pretty early in fairly low revs makes me paranoid enough to accept the 3 lbs weight penalty with a beefier shaft. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...3978b4ac88.jpg Not my driveshaft, but the photo accurately represents my paranoia. |
Yeah, yeah. 40 psi at 2,000 rpm please. Feel free to taper off toward redline.

Why is not that entire area spray painted white by the person who painted the ceiling?
