All jokes aside, that was a quick way to tack the PPF in place for the final measurements of the "receiver" prototype on the bimmer gearbox.

Oh, have you noticed the custom driveshaft? Good to about 900 lbs torque.

Um, I do leave a pretty healthy safety margin on the drivetrain for a couple reasons...
This driveshaft will spin 24% slower compared to the stock Miata unit.
Transmitting torque at lower rpms is pretty taxing on drivetrain components. Imagine the strain on the chain when you stand on the pedal to accelerate your bike from a very slow speed.
Coupled with the fact that my torques unload at pretty early in fairly low revs makes me paranoid enough to accept the 3 lbs weight penalty with a beefier shaft.
