Seems like every time one of our cranes spits out a track extend pad, the warranty investigation finds they never greased the extend beams. Claim denied.

Every time a motor fails there ends up being grease in the windings. Motor is trashed.
I'm at the point where I plug grease ports on motors because these guys get so bored, but don't want to actually do hard work. So they go around driving 20 shots of grease into everything. Sometimes I think they do it so it fails for job security. Now I just replace bearings instead of entire motors.
So you can over grease, unless it's a bushing. Those things love oil and grease.
Are you going to do mammoth cave? I highly recommend the candlelit tour. And if you're really adventurous do the 6+ hour one.
I'd love to go back and do an overnight tour.
Candle light tour wasn't being offered, but we did the historical tour and the bowl & dripstone. Pretty fascinating, and I'd love to come back. Easily the most interesting hole in the ground I've ever crawled into.
