Yup.
That certainly is an old looking bearing. Doesn't look to have failed due to the lack of grease.
Edit* I just realized your post is literally the exact same as mine i made a year or so ago. AMU was making a "squeak / squeal" and i just figured it was the belt... Nope.
Unrelated poorly designed sink i used at a hotel recently.

This tower is only about ten years old, but due to the nature of being a TV station, it runs 24/7 all year round. Tom the building engineer swears that all of the bearings in that tower get lubed at the specified interval. There was in fact a fair bit of grease present, there just weren't any ***** for it to lubricate.
I've tasked Tom with reviewing our choice of lubricant. Not gonna go full RedLine here, but maybe a grease that we didn't purchase as war-surplus from a manufacturer in Uzbekistan.
(WW 1, mind you.)

That is one of my pet peeves. Not just poor layout, but needlessly fru-fru sinks / faucets in general.
Wait, do non-colorblind people see something that looks like one of the two halves of this? I see something totally different. I bet there's thousands/millions of different color-sight(probably a real word for this) variations like there are iris colors or even patterns but it takes optical illusions (that not 100% of people see) or other oddities like the dress for people to stumble upon them.

Also, what the **** a mantis shrimp see, bro?
I perceive the original to be a composite of the left and right halves of Y8s image. Lighter / less saturated than the left, darker / more saturated than the right.
EDIT: by way of explanation, that is a painting-on-black-velvet which hangs in the restroom at the barber shop I go to, which is illuminated with a UV-A (BLB) lamp.
Just spent an hour getting preached to while trying to enjoy a couple of beers at a bar in Cave City, KY.
Now sitting in a minivan at an RV park, waiting for my sister to arrive in the rig. The radio station which was WBEZ (91.5) when I left Chicago is now a preacher telling me about how the devil knows the bible.
