So, we're building some new compact cameras to put in various windows in the new building that WGN Radio is moving into (they're separate from WGN-TV, but we share a 400 Mb/s pipe between us) so that we can get downtown street-view shots. Ideally, the cameras will just sit unobtrusively in people's offices, looking out the window.
This is what we came up with:
And then I thought "****, We've created a Recognizer."
Is this a national thing or is it mainly Chicago? New York?
I had a friend and co-worker who lost his fiance in a bike accident in Chicago... two weeks before we were set to start filming a movie. He still did it. I couldn't understand how.
Well, a Cuban dump truck driver heading down US 41 in Tampa right in front of my office had his PTO engage and raise the bed while he was driving. It ripped the steel dump body off of the chassis when he hit the cables hanging over the street. It broke 3 power poles and sent power and communication cables down onto the roadway and our parking lot. Apparently the truck did a wheelie before the dump body broke loose and the front of the truck came slamming back down to the ground. The dump body tumbling down the highway sounded like a dumpster as it tumbled. One of the poles smashed three cars in my parking lot and a couple of vehicles were damaged on the highway.
The post-mortem was that the buzzer and Light that lets him know his dump body is up had been compromised by the driver because it was annoying.
There's a place early in the video for you to insert a pair of old fluorescent tubes that don't quite work but flicker for ambiance. I highly recommend you play it up with the HL2 references while you have the chance. Maybe some dark red paint spots and some fake bullet holes. Maybe a fake broken wire sparking and flashing.
This would help, though Chicago might frown on your possession of a full-auto MP7. Probably won't run into ant lions that high up, just combine.
I have an operator buddy who says this is his favorite gun of all time... he's a big, big dude... had their armory make him a custom thigh-rig for it. His primary is a SCAR Heavy (like I said, big dude).
Nice job. I just came up on my 3 year mark with mine. All I remember is "choose the best option:" and thinking, oh, I got this, then not seeing the option on the list. The questions were terrible, at least on mine.
It does kind of feel like that, actually. Floors 105 and 104 are totally different environments.
I'll be honest, being up there at night kind of creeps me out.
You need to breathe quieter, otherwise you wont hear the headcrabs:
... also, in HL, real men don't need guns and just use one of these:
,,, it might actually come in handy for actual work too!
