Going back a few pages to kinda catch up on some things.......dammit.....missed plane postings and talkings. I will say, I go to see one of my all-time favs. while we were doing our cross-country trip from Oregon to NC and stopped at the Air Force Museum. I took quite a number of real pics.....just need to get them off the camera and uploaded. But here's a teaser of me finally seeing awesomeness...
A 1970 or 71 VW and a 1978 Dodge utility truck (W200 I believe) chassis.
Front drive shaft removed so we can drive it in 4 Low, because tractor tires at the rear.
You can see the radiator in the rear window opening if you look carefully.
Shocks are from a heavy duty MB truck, with new mounting points.
Dual motorcycle exhausts with removed internals - you know, megaphones...
4 Low going to be fast enough for the challenge? That tire isn't very tall compared to stock unless you are running something smaller than the Dodge engine. That thing will be nice and lightweight.

It's a 6 in line with a single barrel carb. And the tractor tire is really big. Damn near chest height.
The race will be on a pretty tight and bumpy dirt (mud, depending on the weather) course with a couple of jumps. I'm pretty sure the low range will be enough for that.
