I keep a leather glove in the car because my shift knob approaches 5000K around mid day. Its like a deer skin winter glove though, so I dont look like a total knob. Just a crazy person.

I wear driving gloves in the Miata all the time. Helps to grip the wheel, and protects my delicate hands from the blazing hot steel shift knob. Mine were a gift from my aunt when I bought my Corvette 30+ years ago.
