edit: Correction, news says 25" at present, which is actually close to record-breaking.
I left the station around 5, as everything seemed to be under control and I had a full staff assembled by that point. Getting home wasn't bad, the subway is still operating normally within Manhattan and the inner sections of Queens / Bronx / Brooklyn- they simply stopped service and reversed the trains on each line at whatever the last station was before it went aboveground in the outer boroughs.
I'm missing Phoenix right now. Spent a couple of months there in the dead of summer building the Clear Channel studios (KFYI, etc) a few years ago. Hated it at the time...
