What's interesting is that I drive right by that place (the Craftsmanship Museum) every day on my way to work. It's in a really weird part of town, basically an office / industrial park that was built a few years ago by Grubb & Ellis and is still almost totally vacant. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1327865567 I can't imagine that they get a lot of visitors. It's nowhere near anything touristy. I've always wondered what they had in there. Never bothered to stop. |

Top gear season 18 episode 1:
Episodes 4 and 5 haven't been posted yet. http://www.youtube.com/user/995trep EDIT: Here is a link to one streaming video in better quality: http://ovfile.com/twv63nnv7u1a |
I was miserably slow this weekend but started picking apart the track on my last session. Now that I have data and I'm learning how to use it, I could have been a lot faster if I got the logger working on Saturday. Instead I jacked with it aimlessly when I could not get it to record a lap. CKearns' Race Keeper is so awesome and the more I see him use it, the more I realize that piece of hardware and software could make me a lot faster, it blows away my stuff. Want want want.
Anyway, here are some of my best laps. I was tired and sloppy, my hands are too fast, I keep using too-much throttle in The Sweeper and Diamond's Edge. |

Pretty cool video, makes me want to take a track day. I'm guessing you passed the corvette? |

Thats kinda why I asked. It looked like even though he was a bit faster then you in the straights he was slower in the turns and therefor might end up slowing you down b/c I wouldn't think that you'd be allowed to pass on corners during these events.

There are essentially two ways to get from BJ's Restaurant in Colton, CA to Jerry's Barber Shop in San Bernadino.
One way is to just go straight up the 215, a trip of about 11 minutes. This is the other way: Attachment 240102 |
I like your way better.

In the US, for instance, we have built both the Panoz Esperante and also the Chevy Chevette. When a Chinese manufacturer wants to produce a high-quality product, they are perfectly capable of doing so. Yes, a lot of the stuff that comes out of China is utter garbage, designed to be manufactured and sold as quickly and cheaply as possible without regard for quality. (Kind of like the Chrysler K cars.) But I've also seen a lot of Chinese goods which are entirely up to par with their Japanese / European / American rivals. |

Are you saying the Panoz Esperante or the Chevy Chevette were counterfeits of something? I fail to see the comparison your trying to make.
I'm saying that the Esperante and the Chevette are examples of two products of highly different quality and performance which were both made in the same country. Likewise, some products made in China are of high quality and yield good performance, while other products made in China are of low quality and perform badly. As a broad generalization, many people seem to think that all products made in China are of poor quality, and I am merely stating that this is not universally true. Whether said products are copies of something else is immaterial with regard to how well they perform in a given application. Remember in Back to the Future when Doc said "No wonder this part failed- it says Made in Japan!" At one time, the Japanese had a reputation for building derivative junk. But they evolved out of that, and by the 1980s had established a reputation for building dependable, high-quality products. China is in the same position today that Japan was in the 1960s. In 20 or 30 years' time, Made in China will universally denote a product of superior quality, and we'll all be complaining about the crappy knockoff products coming out of some other country. |

There is a David Buscher who builds somewhat fast DSMs and sells all sorts of sheisty parts for them, most of which are other people's parts with a Buscher Racing sticker on them, if not direct buy-one-and-send-it-to-China copies with Buscher Racing stickers on them.

Hes probably sick of dealing with pissants. I can only imagine the ---- he has to deal with running a company like that. A good friend of mine has had his bottom end, transmission, and turbo setup all built by Buscher racing and has nothing but good things to say. |
