I honestly don't know if that's just a crimp splice being compressed by the explosives, or if it's expected to liquify and flow into the cable like a thermite weld. We were warned if we were ever on the jobsite where they were doing explosive splicing to keep your car windows rolled down. It was explained to me to be the latter. apparently with the older hydraulically crimped splices you can actually see them with a thermal camera. Not so with the explosively set splice.

does anyone here recognize this car? I was told by its new owner that its a rear mounted turbo and he cant track it on over 3psi due to heat.
