The time has finally come.
My faithful old media-server PC, with its 15 year old first-gen Pentium 4 processor, has finally gone dark.
The power supply comes on, and everything which should spin does, but the motherboard isn't even attempting to boot. No video, no drive access, not even a pathetic little *meep* out of the on-board speaker to give some indication of life.

A memorial service will be held on Monday.

At my previous job, we built audio routers which were controlled by a computer which was built in the forum-factor of a laptop memory DIMM. This is the specific one we used:

The specs were a little lighter (1gig flash, 64 MB RAM, ARM-9 CPU), but it still had all of the normal stuff that a computer has (10/100 ethernet, USB and RS-232 ports, SD card interface, etc), and depending on the application we ran either WinCE or Linux on them.
Pretty nifty. I wish I still had one somewhere.

"i can't wait to see what kind of MPGs it gets"
"what's up with those big holes in it, totally impractical and ugly"
"why a v6, v8 is what they always used and is better"
"if they just used a v8 they wouldn't need those big armpits to cool it"
I'm paraphrasing of course.

Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I personally love the looks of function. That vehicle looks as good as i'm sure it will preform. You can tell some thought was put into it, unlike, say the challenger...
I also saw one of these on the drive in this morning. Talk about ugly.
The lighting they have on it is extremely tacky.

Almost nissan juke, and pontiac aztek levels of ugly.
