Objectively 'rubbish' - subjectively, I think they're brilliant. The quick wear and sudden 'falling off a cliff' feeling that the drivers talk about when these tyres are near the end of their lifespan are both great for the sport. So I could have said pirelli had been obliged to produce amazing tyres, but nobody would understand what I meant! I even think the drivers being cautious in Q3 is another interesting part of the sport. I like it. I also like Williams finally winning after eight years of being reeeeeeally average. It's been a great season so far

fox sucks
Race coverage perforated with an unbelievable amount of commercials. No pre-race coverage. No post-race coverage. Speed announcers instructed to dumb it down to kindergarten level. It's almost like they are showing F1 under duress, and just want to get the race coverage over with.
But damn that was a great race. Vettel got screwed. I continue to be amazed by him. To be able to absolutely destroy a field of arguably the world's best drivers from the start and simply leave them behind is unbelievable to watch.

Is there no way for you guys to access the BBC's coverage on the internetz? We had 3 hours of coverage with zero breaks today. If I had to watch F1 with commercial interruptions every ten minutes I would almost certainly ragequit my sofa before the race had even started!

I usually watch BBC here too. Dutch coverage is also ridden with commercial breaks every ~8 laps. If Sky airs the race, I usually download the Skysports broadcast afterwards. I also download (almost) every FP and quali session religiously.
That being said, 10 laps or so in I predicted Maldonado pulling some stunt and low and behold, it came true
I was pleased to see Ferrari picking up a second win after the abysmal qualifying yesterday

F-ing excellent race. Feels a bit weird to say that about Valencia since it's usually so boring, but it was a great race. 3 champs on podium, the reigning world champ out near the end, the championship leader out? What a spectacle.
Oh and agreed about Fox. I don't give a ---- if Johnny Sisterfucker gets a chance to watch a grand prix for a few races in the middle of a season, put it on Speed and leave it where it belongs. I want pre-race and post-race and everything in between in one place. I don't think I'm asking for too much.
If it wasn't for not having a reliable F1 torrent source, I'd cancel my satellite service.

I would have to get a VPN into a UK IP to watch BBC live. This is doable but I have not pursued it yet. Usually the races air at inconvenient times for West Coast USA, so I am almost always watching it on a delayed recording.
We are this close to dropping cable, or at least all of our fancy cable, and just going with interwebz viewings. The only reason I have the HD package and the HD DVR is for F1. We no longer watch broadcast television. Everything we do watch can be accessed via other means.

However, that won't take away from today's race, wow. I didn't mind seeing Vettel out, as I like it when it has to work for his championships, instead of last year where he was 1st all year long. Grosean though, that was sad. He came from no where and was finally going to win a race, but his engine quits too. That was not cool.
Also, Hamilton. He's been under fire off and on with the stewards and seems to either have podium finish, or DNF. He used to be a black Iceman, but he's really lost his cool lately. Sucks that finally it wasn't his fault though. Karma maybe? As much of a dick as he's been on track and over the radio, I'm not sure he deserved it this time after how hard he fought. Especially after his botched pit stop.

re the valencia race and Hamiltons crash...someone further up said it wasn't Hamiltons fault. Don't you think he should have left some space just in case maldonado was still in it....?
I like Hamilton but he just forgets to allow for the other driver to not back out sometimes. I find this is odd because he is very good at not backing out of those close passing moments/opportunties himself....
Great season so far.
I too don't like DRS, the tyres and Kers are probably enough nowadays......
I like the idea above of giving q3 runners a tyre specially for the session BUT it would have to one of the tyre compounds already allocated fro the race. Otherwise some cars setups would suit the new Qualy only tyre and others would suit the race tyre. THis seems a little random.
If they just said Q3 cars get one set of the softest tyre for Q3 only...I think that would be fair and make for a truer reflection on who is fast and who isn't. It would prevent sandbagging to save one set of tyres for the race like happens frequently for the 8-10th guys now....
