I have a MSM and I just bought the Qmax reroute (awesome piece of kit btw). I was all excited to start the install when I started to worry about head gaskets. I have read through most of the cooling threads and I understand that the 94-00 HG is best with a reroute. However, I would really rather not pull the head and all the auxiliary components off the car (mostly because I fear I would mess something up as a somewhat inexperienced wrench). Considering these options:
a. install the reroute with the current stock gasket
b. do both the gasket and the reroute at once
c. do something strange like a dual flow similar to this but with the Qmax parts and the stock thermostat on the front of the head.
With regards to option c, I saw on the mazdaspeed archives here that someone had success with a similar setup. Very intrigued by this option. Would look something like this:
For context, the car has the Big Enchilada, 42mm CSF radiator, LRB undertray, stock fans, ebay intercooler. The car idles at 210 and goes up to about 220 in heavy traffic but no higher. I would like to lightly track it in the future hence the reroute and my search for more cooling.
