Default Won't rev past 4k, stalls, dies, rough idle. Can I get some help?

Hi,
I'm Lee.
I'm brand new here. Just bought my first mx5 a few months back. '93 B6ZE. I've already changed the oil, installed a new alternator [it died], and clutch master cyl. For the last couple weeks I've noticed that when idling for a while [5-10 minutes], the idle [normally at around 600ish on my tach] will spike up to 1k for a half second then return to normal. I have a minor oil leak from the CAS seal. Previous owner also ziptied the CAS plug into CAS unit.

So I was cruising on the highway home one night, go to accelerate a bit in 5th and suddenly the revs bounce off 4k like it's a wall. I downshift to 4th and the same thing happens at 4k. I popped hazards and took her out of gear to coast down to the next off ramp, luckily there was a gas station right there. When I got there, checked the oil level and it was normal. Checked voltage as nominal too at 14.2V. Added 1 quart of oil. Added 4 gallons of 87. Tried to start again. Starter works, engine cranks but feels bogged to hell. Whining noise, and what seems to be metal on metal grinding. Tried to start a few times. I could keep her running if I gassed it. I didn't want to drive home like that and further **** it up so I towed home. The problem persists. I haven't had time to really check her out too much, but here is a short video I took of a start up. She runs now, but tends to stall after a little bit and still whines and grinds. Please help.

p.s. MODS/ADMIN, sorry if this is in the wrong area, please move me.
