Who let their turbo parts sit the longest?
I've started the process of getting my turbo build ready. Knocked out a bunch of it with a used BEGi S3 kit w/ IC, but I'm still missing MS, a wideband O2, and injectors. Then I've got to decide if I'm going to swap the clutch and rear end before the build, or just baby it until one or the other breaks and do the work then. Besides budgetary constraints, I'm probably going to wait until my wife and I move into a house of our own (doing big projects at my parents' garage is a hassle, and the apt complex doesn't allow work in the parking lot) and find a decent $500 commuter beater since the Miata is my daily driver. Several months before there's real progress, basically.
So who's had the longest time between the parts acquisition began and you actually saw your first boost? I see some of the build threads are over several months but I know there's got to be somebody out there who has had a manifold and turbo sitting in the basement for a few years now.

My turbo parts haven't sat the longest--- my engine parts have. I bought my pre-PNP'd head back in like 2006. It sat there until this year. When I opened up the box the frikekn camshafts had rusted. Fuggg...
The used fucked up engine I bought sat there for three months before I figured out how I could get around while I was pulling and reinstalling my engine.
The hydramist has sat for two years. I only figured out my super duper stealthio filling solution two weeks ago. It's going in when I put the engine in. I'm glad Element Tuning / Phil is still around.
As for my turbo parts, they only sat for two months.

You guys aren't even close. I started collecting parts in spring of 2004 and I just hit boost for the first time in June of this year. A friend of mine (who used to be on here) got his stuff fall of 03 and the car still hasn't been under boost. The turbo has actually been on the car for about a year now. We were betting on who would take linger. I lost...

Still have most of my turbo parts lying around from my first (wrecked) miata. Wrecked in ~May '07. Most of which had been sitting for a while already and never made it onto the car, those are in Virginia, I am in Germany with no car, let alone Miata. I think I will win this one before I touch those parts again.
