Default What guages should i have in my turbo miata?

Hey everyone

I am thinking of buying a DDM works silver panel with 3 guage holes under the cd slot. I already have a boost guage on my far left driver side heater vent. So with the new ddm works with 3 guage slots, i will need 3 more guages to fill them up. Also have a o2 band sensor guage that i am planning to put in the middle of the DDM. So that leaves 2 more slots for guages. Which 2 guages should i buy? Which are the most important gauges i should have on my turbo miata?

thanks

EGT and Oil Pressure the 2 I would recommend! If not Oil pressure, Oil Temp!

or
oil presure + EGT

EGT = Exhaust Gas Temperature.

If I were you I would change the Oil Pressure gauge that comes in the car for a real one.

I've got:

- EGT
- Water Temp
- Oil Temp

above my radio

and

- WB (that's wideband) AFRs
- Boost in the A pillar.

Depends on what year is the OP's car. Mine is a 96 and it came with a dummy one.

clock and narrow band

just run the 1.6 oil pressure gauge.

I have AFR, boost, oil temp, (factory) oil pressure or course, and EGT. All greddy because that's the way I roll, son.

i have a 1990 turbo miata
and yea i think ill go with a AFR wideband, oil temp, and water temp in the DDM works 3 guage panel. Sound good? Or should i get a EGT instead of one of those? Heard the EGT is kinda hard to install?

EGT is very important... Probably one of the first gauges I recommend on a turbo car. My Turbo Honda has one of each runner as I my Engine Management allowed me to tune each cylinder individually and the 4 EGTs helped in that process.

Its okay to leave out the water temp then? because i dont realy have any place to put that yet.

It makes more sense to have a gauge that actually tells you how hot the water temp is,instead of a needle pointing in the middle of the gauge.

thats ture but since he has a mspnp i'm gonna assume he has a laptop, and that will tell you the temp of the coolant too....so no need for that....he would have 3 gauges for the same thing then

I know this person and he has no laptop.

Nobody drives around with a laptop plugged into their car at all times,so checking the water temp with a actual gauge makes more sense then checking it with a laptop.

he asked if it would be ok to leave out the water temp gauge....seeing as the car already has one, its not really needed. thats all i was saying. basically its not a necessity.

Bump from the dead... I'm going with a boost, egt, and narrow band A/f ratio... I figure I can tune with the egt and the narrow band will do just to make sure I'm away from the lean... I bought two different style sets with a radio din face. Not sure which one I'm going to keep but I definetly have to sell one set..
