There's a flat black 996 turbo cab running around Malibu where I live and imo, it looks kinda like ****, very original and when you see it you think WTF? but it just doesn't work on such a high end supposedly sleek car. On certain cars like the first two posted and the VW, satin paint rocks, especially satin silver.

The different between it looklike like rice **** and looking nice is how it's applied.
looks like **** = comes in a can and you and your friends do it. No matter what, spray paint looks like **** on large surfaces.
looks good = sprayed using a automotive spray gun

I say if you're going to do it, have a shop do it the right way with the right satin paint.
