Hey all, I'm replacing my valve stem seals today as my car has started smoking a bit on startup. Anyways, I went with felpro valve stem seals number # ss 72802 as from what I've read they are decent enough seals. Now the reason I'm making this post is I've got one of the old exhaust seals pulled and it has a pretty significantly bigger Id than the new ones. I'll add a pic of the old vs new seal. Just wondering if it's just because the old ones are that worn? Or did I order the wrong ones?
They're that worn. Pretty normal for higher mileage cars.
That's crazy to me, I would figure with that much wear they'd have been leaking like a screen door...anyways they didn't cure my oil burning at idle not gonna lie I might've jumped the gun on replacing them as they were just about the only seal I hadn't replaced when I put this engine together.
