Default Turbo Miata 1, 2008 Elise 0

But damn, that little bastard was quick from 30-60.
Came up behind him Friday evening, before I dumped in the HR firmware so I had no reason why I couldn't play. The lotus driver was driving slightly agressively, so I came up along side and matched his speed. I gave him a wave, and he hit it, and took off. I did the same, and at first he was pulling away. But then I started making full boost and passed him. I hit the brakes when I had a car length, to come along side again. I wanted to give him a little wave, and be off on my way, but he wouldn't make eye contact with me.

I bet it feels good to beat up on cars that cost 4 or 5 times what you have in your own. The elises sure look good and I'd love to have one but not for the price they go for most the time. I was hoping that picture was going to be a video.

3k rpm I think. He definitely got a good lead on me, but I get full boost around 4500. Plus with the 8" wheels and KDWs it hooks pretty good from a roll.

Now that it's running the HR code, it feels like it gets going more quickly.

Was driving to 30 minutes outside Columbus today, and a Ford Focus thought it was hot stuff. It passed me and my friend in his cavalier, he slammed on the gas and we passed him again to show him that his car was also as bad as Brandon's, and not fast, and he flicked us off and got off on the exit. Was funny because the Focus was the one that originally stomped on it and cut us off out of no where. If I would have been driving my miata, I would have done circles around the guy all day long

Ben, nice run but...

I think we are forgetting what both of these cars are meant to do...the question is how will they do against each other in a road course?

Braking, handling, acceleration!!!

Turbo Miata vs. a supercharded Elise

Actually, you are wrong about me voting for the Elise. I own three Miatas one of them a turbo track car, you won't find a bigger Miata nut than me.
I am just bringing light to the facts of what these two cars are meant to do...twisties! Thats all.

A 15k turbo miata would give the 60k Elise SC a hell of a run.

And while we may be ignoring that the Elise is a track car, and not a drag car, shall I remind you the same is said about the miata. Also, the Elise is reported to run <5sec 0-60 and <13sec 1320ft. I think that says a lot about my car.

One gear down and he wouldn't have gotten a run.

Yeah- the Miata is gonna win just because you can do a lot more to it with the cash. So if Ben doubled the cash he has in his car now, where would that put it compared to the sc'd Elise?

Well, first off ,thats not a Exige... just a plain Elise, which is still quick, but nowhere near as fast as an Exige. IIRC the base Exige S is ~220hp and then there is the Exige S 240. Now one of those cars would have been a formidable opponent for you. Now had it been a run-in in the mountains (and if he had a half-***** worth of driving ability), you would have been left in the dust.

Good Kill though, Ben. It's always great when you've busted someones ego so much they don't even want to acknowledge a race in good spirit! lol. God knows i've had a few of them.

0-60 Time is around 4.1 seconds with a 1/4 mile time of 12.7 @ 107 MPH

It's hard to get a Miata to launch that hard, esp. with the kind of power that will net you a 12 sec 1/4mi time.

Oh and Ben... racing on Hamilton Mill Pkwy is ...well....... you should know how residents around there are fast to cell the five-oh's. Though one time i did see a mid-90's Accord beached on the top of one of the big hills along side the road...it was quite funny.
