Been very happy with mine. Very compact, very very light. My turbo car stayed under 215* on a 20-minute session at nearly 300whp on track with it being 80* out. Since then I added Singular hood louvers, stays under 210*.

Haven't tried it in real hot temps yet, but very happy so far.

Ordered. Shooting for 160-180hp with AC and some track and autocross use. This should do all that.

Now how do I quickly make it dirty to match everything else?

Edit: To answer my own question. Yes

Does this need stock mounting brackets for NA?

The Supermiata Crossflow does require the OEM mounts, yes.

Emilio - do you know the limits of this radiator? Is it adequate for a 400whp turbo car with hood vents and ducting for 20 minute hard track sessions? I know on your site it only mentions around 300whp. Being only 31mm thick I wonder at what point you would need a dual core?

We have run full w2w races at 400whp in 80° heat/ 80% humidity in ours.

Hello Emilio, it seems i should get to know some people here im relatively new here but yesterday i blew my stock radiator. i run a 1993 NA with no AC right now but a 05 vvt engine with around 350hp will go in next year so im definetly not thinking of a stock replacement. it seems the Supermiata radiator of yours is a pretty good bargain for a crossflow rad, how long is the estimated shipping time of this to Germany? and are there better options for my kind of HP goals ( use will be daily Driver with light track use, reroute will happen before that) ?

also i need to order the upper radiator hose because stock wont fit if i read correcly, what about the lower hose? need to swap that out too?

best regards

Patrick

Shoot us an email Patrick. Much better way to handle this than the Forum. We will get you set up properly.

FWIW My Supermiata crossflow radiator developed a persistent leak in the past 1000 miles that I thought was coming from the bottom hose, then drain plugs.
I finally had it pressure tested at a radiator shop and they found multiple leaks at the welds/brazes between the endtanks and the core.
I'm at 2/3 CSF-built radiators having failed on me. One was bad out of the box, this one failed after ~5500 miles and 6 HPDEs.

Sorry you had trouble with yours. We have seen only a few fail in the several years we have been shipping. All were replaced under warranty. We have not had one fail on any of our cars.

At 4.5 years old, it's an old racecar part. That being said, I've sent you an email.

I definitely understand that it's an older used racing part. I dont think Supermiata has any blame here, but between this and my other failure it definitely points towards QC issues on CSF's end.
That being said, I already ordered a replacement, as the performance vs price is still unbeatable, as is 949/Supermiata customer service.

We appreciate the positive feedback on our end. The point is, after 4.5 years it's not necessarily a reflection of build quality of the CSF part. So many things can happen in that time to compromise the part, even in just a few HPDE's. Regardless, thanks for your continued patronage

Curious, should we be using some kind of sacrificial anode in our Crossflows to keep corrosion down?

Doesn't hurt. On all our cars we simply use distilled water, a bit of water wetter and about a pint of antifreeze for corrosion protection. Unlike the average streetcar which does not get its coolant replaced for years at a time, we flush the radiator out two or three times a year in our track cars.

Same failure mode as my crossflow. I thought the same things too while chasing the leak. Drain plugs, lower rad hose, and then I finally tossed in some UV die and found it was between the end tanks and tubes. Both sides, and the top 10 rows or so. This was after 2 years, 2 autocrosses N/A and 10k street miles.
