Rear Squeak/Creak when taking off
Hey All,
Posted this in the suspension, brakes, drive train section but wasn't getting any hits.
I recently picked up a '94 Miata and it has been making a squeak/creak noise from the rear since I got it. I've since replaced the shocks (for other reasons) and went with a budget bilstein setup.
The issue occurs whenever I take off or reverse from a dead stop, also if I put the e-brake on and try to take off it makes the noise too. The car does not currently have a rear sway bar and doesn't make the noise going over bumps. However, if I push the driver side rear up and down I can somewhat hear it. I tried spraying the control arm bolts with WD40 just to see if the noise went away, but it did not. I took it to a oil change shop and the tech said I need to put spacers in between the coils, but that seems odd to me. While the car was on the lift we also checked the driveshaft and it seemed fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
