Questions : put the wrench down and went home.
hi guys !
Some of you may have seen my post in the build section, but my friend and I are building ourselves a miata each.
I have some questions for you guys, and I know some of you miata yodas out here know everything there is to know about everything, ever.
I'm the guy out of us 2 that's charged with doing the shopping and choosing the right parts for the cars so... I chose to go for a gt2560r by garrett.
Thing is, there are 2 types of 2560...
Garrett GT2560R-466541-1 (GT28R) Dual Ball Bearing Turbo w/Internal WG
and this one
Garrett GT2560R-466541-4 (GT28R) Dual Ball Bearing Turbo w/Internal WG
the main difference i found in between the two was some cast divider and inconel blades... which sounds nice but why are they priced the same?
Most importantly, which one should I purchase?
on to the second question :
When it's gonna come down to bolting up the exhaust manifold (you know, a turbo exhaust manifold)... should I put a gasket in there? and if so, which one to pick??
third one,
we were trying to do a timing belt job on our engines today, and **** happened.
We couldn't lock the camshafts in place when we removed the tensioners and a camshaft spun on both engines (yes).
Now, both engines are off timing and we still have to rotate the crank...
anybody has a procedure to re-time our engines and if we are to do this job ourselves, should we consider buying those fidanza cam gears??
fourth question :
where do you guys buy all your performance parts?? I know the main ones but if there is one you had a specific, memorable experience with (positive would be good) please say so!
fifth question :
my friend and me both removed our ac compressor and were wondering how much they were worth? (55 000kms)
I think that is about it for now ! please help me?

Buy neither. This is the one you want:
Better than Garrett

For gasket, you'll want something tough and durable. I use this: Gasket

For timing, if you've mis-timed the engine, you're definitely going to need to pick up the fidanza cam gears. You will also need an Alignment tool

A lesser known but very good shop is Kaleco

You might have heard of this site, but if you haven't ever visited, you should check here - should be a very good place to find actual resale value.
I think that is about it for now ! please help me?
If you aren't willing to put in the effort to help yourself, why should we be willing to put in the time and effort to help you?

Are you seriously too stupid to figure out how to set timing on a bp?
Dear lord putting down the wrench and going home was probably a good idea.
Now stay home and don't pick up the wrench until you at least educate yourself on the most basic information on the planet.
Question 1 is a legitimate question, the others tell us you're a lazy n00b wanting to be spoon fed.
