Default Pull out the Carpet / Approaches?

Concealer404, maybe you can help...

I'm trying to decide if it is worth the trouble to remove the dash in order to fully remove the carpet for drying out / sound proofing. I will be putting the same carpet back down.

If the right thing to do is to remove dash and take out the carpet intact, will someone please direct me to a "how to" write-up or video.

I suppose the steering wheel would need to come out as well.

2nd question: Did the @XXX mentioning scheme go away, or have I simply forgotten how to make it work?

You have to manually use the utag tags.

I cut the carpet where it's captured by the dash, behind the radio.

With some careful tucking on re-install, you can't even tell.

I did the same thing adamiata did. I haven't reinstalled the carpet, but it's a pretty small slice, maybe 6"? and I feel confident I could reinstall it and have it look normal if I wanted.

^^ This, unless you're doing something inside the dash, or some major re-wiring. Keeping track of all the screws and nuts and connectors is a major PITA.
