Painted my front emblem satin black - looks good on a yellow car.

Ruined my old one getting it off. Bought a new one and de-chromed it with household bleach. Took about 5 cycles of bleaching and rinsing and bleaching again. Sanded last remains of metal plating, then sanded again finer. Painted Krylon Satin black.

Looks good, although it looks like a hell of a lot of work for near zero effect.

If anyone wants one to try it, I debadged my V8 car and had the holes filled front and rear before they painted it. LMK.

Zero effect, are you kidding me! The coefficient of friction of the black badge is way less than the chrome and my top speed has gone up like a ton. It absorbs radar so less tickets. On a hot day the badge almost pulls heat from your IC whereas the chrome one surely adds heat.

Once I black out the headlights i will beat an Atom in several categories!

OR! Match the car to the badge by getting a chrome miata.
